I have been looking at security camera systems for our new office/shop/storage building. My only source so far is E-bay.:blush5:

I feel that I need at least 10/12+ camera's (some indoor - some outdoor). I would hope to have motion detect activation but open to ???? . We already have lighting and strobs (exterior) on motion/timers.

I would like to stay with a closed system - no 'pay by month' security service.

I feel that I can protect the photo storage computer/box by shear mounting (24+ feet) hieght.

Any insight?

Wireless?? pro's and cons.

Too bad I am not still selling that stuff. Get with one of the low voltage system guys...

Maybe Audiofn.

Look for a DVR system. There is a system that starts recording based on change in pixel saturation, I'll be out of the office today, but I will try ot dig it up later.
You can access it anywhere that has a highspedd connection.

I've used them in the past and they were excellent for home security. The system I'm designing right now for my new house is going to have cameras and the works.

Is this worth looking at?

My building is 175' long so I would have to purchase some extra cabling. Am I going in the right direction?

That is the sort of thing you want.
Let me call my supplier tomorrow, and I'll check on the price.
