Okay everyone, here's your chance to abuse.

I'll be racing the Bat Boat of Dean Howard with him in C5 at the Harrison race and SVL at the St Clair race.:)

He'll have total control of the throttles, so don't worry too much.....:sifone:

Dean is donating the funds to the purse for the racers at Harrison, sweeet.

I'm attaching a few pictures of the boat. It has been repainted to the yellow, but the green pics are of the same boat.

Wish me luck, and really do everything you can to support Dean and Rick's efforts with the Harrison race and OPA for their efforts with both......

See you there.....:26: :03: :26: :03: :26:

You can do more damage with the wheel than the throttles. Throttles you only break your boat. With the wheel you can f up everybody else.:sifone:

Very, Very COOL!!
I bet you'll have a blast.
You should get someone to take pics and document everything.
And you should post in detail your experience.
It would certainly give everyone an idea of what it's like to start in the sport.
I'd love to see it - it would be a great read!

You guys are trying so hard to standardize the rules for SVL and make it feasible to get in long term, I cannot not do it. That has always been my biggest gripe and you're Seriously (:)) trying.

You'd make fun of me if I didn't do it now..(Well, you will anyway)..

Thanks George, appreciate it big time......

the biggest mistake most rookies make is leaving the turn indicator on, you could win the race but if you are blinking the entire time it is just shameful.:sifone:

Rat, Congrats on your next step into offshore racing. You won't have to worry about a removable top after your race because pleasure boating just wont be the same. All you'll want is a raceboat. Although we won't be at the Harrison event we hope your experience is a positive one and you find your way onto the circuit for the whole season.

Well it looks like I got myself into something here. Don't worry about Paul, we will get lots of seat time in on Sat. With a fresh motor and drive we should be a force in C5 again.

We could use a 30p Counter Rotating Bravo One for St Clair (right hand turn course) if were are going to run SVL. If anyone has one we can barrow for St Clair it would be put to good use.

Jeff is nice enough to do all this for no charge to help with other possible beginners getting into the sport, and for the membership of Serious who can't be at the races to have some insight.

Let me walk you thru this.....harrison is easy, st clair a bit trickier because of the current, comming up on the green flag, dean will push the sticks forward, then will apply duct tape to hold them there. he will then trim the boat so up so all you can see is blue sky. if you catch something big and orange out of the corner of your eye, it's probably a turn bouy (if you see something little and orange, it's Dean head (helmet), ignore this) anyways when you see something big and orange, turn the wheels towards it aprox. 45 degrees. if you get out of shape, unturn it a bit, if you dont get out of shape, turn it more. Once you see the black and white checkered flag, turn the wheel either way as fast as you can untill it stops turning. this will make the boat do donuts like the nascar guys, the fans on the beach will love it and they will begin chanting "Rat-Trickle...Rat-Trickle, rah, rah, RAH"!!!!!

Dean's Batboat only has a Bravo, not a Duo like all the others. He changes rotation for the Counter clockwise like Harrison vs the Clockwise like St Clair.

Don't know what class we'll run in St Clair at the moment. If Dean is really feeling brave, and they split it up right, maybe Class 5 and SVL. 84 was the best we saw testing, so in SVL, it would be just to have the privelage of folloowing you guys around the course to learn how crazy you really are ...:sifone:

Deans boat is a Bravo drive he just meant the left hand rotation props i have. We found with that boat changing between left and right hand props pending overall course direction helped dramatically. Do the V lite guys do that as well? just curious

Thanks George, appreciate it.

Dean's Vee comes first though. So we'll see how it shakes out. I know he wanted to try and spin a left hand 30 B1 if he can find one. Not sure what that will do to acceleration. That small block did okay on the start though, I scrubbed a lot of speed in turn two and Tyler went by in the back straight shortly thereafter. I'll figure it out. Odd handling boats........
