I am having some concerns in towing our Cig. The boat is a '90 model Cafe with a steel target trailer...guessing 11 - 13,000 ibs total. The tow rig is an older one but seems to run fine. It has brand new brakes and I even painted it to match our boat so I really want to get these issues worked out.

My problem is trying to run down the road - It seems to take a LONG time to get any speed built up.

And stopping is even worse. It takes like a block and a half sometimes to get stopped.

Do you guys think i'm having fuel issues, or maybe transmission issues? But, these ideas still do not address the stopping problems.

I need some suggestions, guys!

details on the tow vehicle might help.

Sorry - should have posted a little more info. The car salesmen, that I bought it from, told me that I shouldn't have any problems towing my boat with this rig.

LMAO! But we'll probably see real questions like this when The One gets done with the auto industry.

I was getting ready to tell you to go trade that Dodge in.

Now knowing what I know, let's get down to the nitty gritty. Why is the boat on the trailer? Have you found anything out yet?

Do a search on ebay, there is a guy there that sells 12v superchargers for your tow vehicle. Guaranties to add 100 hp to it, that should cure your acceleration issues.. :) :)

Only problem I see is the hitch seems a litle high and the drivers mirror is small.
I'd also consider painting the truck bed to complete the color match.

The boat was on the trailer being detailed last week - Lets hope I don't have to put it back on the trailer this week.:ack2: I spoke with Brad last night - we hope its just electrical.

You need to convert that '100HP' to 'CC's' for my rig to understand.:sifone:

Based on the photos, I would have to guess a fuel issue. Are you running premium?

What kind of power? (The boat, not the truck).

Great looking towing rig/boat.

To help a guy out. I'll get the camcorder and follow you so we can all get a good laugh I mean we can all get a visual and help assess the situation to find a cure for both acceleration and deceleration problems. Just pick out a good hilly road around the lake and let me know when. We're here for ya.

I've had you on my mind since you called last night. Was gonna ask if you had oil pressure issues or anything. Didn't recall you saying anything about it so I assumed that was good. Electrical came to mind after that.

Let's keep our fingers crossed....

The only problem I see, if you raise the tongue-stand off the ground should fix everything you're having issues with.......

If not, put a wheel on the bottom of it.....:sifone:

I'm going to try that the next time I haul one. Just crazy enough that it might work.:sifone:
