Montana gunsmith Dan Cooper has been ousted as chief executive of the rifle company that bears his name after pressure from gun owners who are angry that he is supporting Democrat Barack Obama.

"The employees, shareholders and board of directors of Cooper Firearms of Montana do not share the personal political views of Dan Cooper. Although we all believe everyone has a right to vote and donate as they see fit, it has become apparent that the fallout may affect more than just Mr. Cooper. It may also affect the employees and the shareholders of Cooper Firearms. The board of directors has asked Mr. Cooper to resign as President."

ps Buck- I think you posted before seeing the update and good job spreading the word on him backing Nobama none the less..

Mark,

I appreciate the update. I had not seen the latest on this topic. I hated to see it due to the quality of their product.

I'll keep this thread going so all can be informed correctly.

Thanks again for catching it...

Cooper builds a great rifle. Too bad that the head CEO of the company is so stupid. Maybe he just wants to bankrupt the company and hand over all his guns to that osama a-hole and his henchmen.

Pretty phuckin lame. :ack2:

Haven't been following close but most were speculating that even though he's been ousted as CEO that he still probably holds a lot of stock considering that he started the company. Buying a Cooper still puts money in his pocket that he can use to donate to Obama....

Shame, very nice rifles.

I thought the same thing jmeng but at least the company had the gonads to oust him even if he was the bossman.
