We made a bonzai run from Toledo up to LSC and back this weekend and managed to find Gull Island. It was a great run, minor potential issue going through downtown Detroit in that we weren't sure what was no-wake, what wasn't and found the shallow part by accident but no harm done. Got the low-down from the locals about Jobbienooner but looking for a little more info on how to navigate Muskamoot bay and where the hang-out is? And where are the no-wake parts in downtown Detroit area? We asked somebody and they said from the Belle Isle bridge to where the river opens up into LSC??

It was cool seeing Detroit/Windsor from the water and awesome screaming across LSC and that clear (but freezing!) water you guys have up there. It's nice to get out of the muddy Maumee once in awhile. Looking forward to going back sometime soon.

Jobbienooner is Friday June 26th. The big big Muscamoot party is Saturday August 8th. That is our Guinness Book World Record raftoff for charity. Usually around 1500 boats show up. If you were at Gull, you were only 1/2 mile from Muscamoot. If you were at Gull looking "up" the channel (toward the blue/pink houses) you just have to go to the left around the bend where the woods are and you are there. You must be extremely careful through there. It is very very shallow for a few miles in that area. Best bet is come out of Belle Isle and jump in the shipping channel (which would be to your right) where all of the freighters are and take it all the way up to Gull, wrap around Gull and then head north, but stay off the point it's full of rocks (you will see all of the boats). You'll want to stay up the middle of the bay then idle in. As far as Detroit, there's not any NO WAKE zones that I know of, unless there's an event going on in the river and the coast guard is patrolling. There is a channel right close to shore going under the Belle Isle bridge that is deep. Here's some pics of Muscamoot.

On the Detoit River there is no wake zone between Belle Isle and mainland and between Peache Island and canadian mainland. They are both marked.

Cool thanks for the info. There was a dude at Gull that gave us the low-down of the area and a quick where to go, where not to go. He said getting across the Muskamoot Bay it was shallow, but you just stayed up on plane until you got close to 'The Gauntlet' or all the boats rafted up and then idle in. Anybody got a chart-plotter route pic they can post?
