Need some for new battery cable system. I have some smaller diameter, but need larger.

I always got it at home depot, but they probably do not have anything large enough to battery cable

You would think that the guys who sell bulk battery cable, and ends might have it. But no. :(

I know the alternator/starter/battery shop here in Zeeland has it. Call around to yours.

How much do you need and what size cable? I collect it from work and have quite a bit, black and clear. Some of it even has a heat activated adhesive inside, works great for keeping the sheath from pulling back from the terminal.

I did, but no. The NAPA store may work.

I was hoping for red, probably about number 2.

Thanks though.

Thanks for the online ideas Dave and Sean.
Thanks for the input everybody.

I am going to try the local NAPA store after work and see what they have.

I figure I need a couple of feet of it.

I have quite a bit too, red or black, adhesive lined, all the way up to 2" dia unshrunk. Make sure you get the adhesive lined stuff as it keeps the moisture out of the bare wires.

That would ship cheap.

Typical expanded vinyl heat shrink isn't likely to do the job well. The local place that makes up cabling for me uses a bonding rubber. It's fairly thick and chemical resistant. And it has the adhesive liner that bonds it. And from the looks of it, it shrinks more than the vinyl's 2:1.

Got it. Thanks.

There is some three to one stuff that I saw out there.

Did NAPA have the 3 to 1 with adhesive as their website said?

They have it. Heavy walled with mastik. The real deal for batteries not electronics. The size for number 2 battery cables was like 2 inches in diameter and pretty dam thick.

Try Lawson Products, Kimbal Midwest. They have heavy wall heat shrink for battery cables, it just cost alittle more!

I saw the book. (He had to look up the red) It looked like they were specifically for battery termination. Red and black only. They were sized by wire gauge size. (ie: 0-2, 2-4) They had two stick boxes. 9 inches long. About 7.50 each stick (15.00 for 18 inches in a box) for black and 9.00 for red. (18.00 for 18 inches). They were huge in their pre-shrunk state.

I got the heavy wall with adhesive liner at O'reily Auto Parts when I added a battery and made new cables.
