What performace numbers can you expect from a 28" Velocity with a fuel injected 454?
Thanks,

454/385hp = 67-69mph.

Thanks 2TR. There is one coming available that a friend of mine is looking at so I haven't seen it yet, but when looking at it how do you determine the HP of the 454? I know there are different HP's for different models and years. Aren't some 330hp, and maybe a 415hp (or is that the 496) I appologize, I'm an outboard guy.

Velocity boats are a thinner lay up light weight boat so you will see higher speeds in calm water than other boat of the same size.

454/385hp = 67-69mph.

I think those numbers are a little generous.:26:

No those numbers are correct in perfect weather light load. I personally know a 280 Velocity with a 502 Mag 415hp will do 70-72mph.

Yeah the bottom has a huge flat pad and if you can drive the boat up on that pad it will go fast in the right water. Still though the hull thickness, materials used and lay up is light...the weight of these boats are a lot lighter than other of the smae size. the stringers are half as thick as other too. Just the way Velocity does it to be fast.
