So we have threads about the most famous boats, best song, etc. What about the most famous album cover of all time? One that everybody has seen, that's been re printed on posters, t shirts and all that jazz.

I think it might be Pink Floyds 1973 Dark Side of the Moon. Seems like every kid I knew in highschool had the tshirt or the poster to go with the album.

So lets hear it guys, what is the most famous album cover? (Include a pic of it!)

I know buoy, dude, phragle, fund and co will be all over this one!

Stecz must be a big fan, he has rainbow stickers all over his car!

Zeppelin- Physical Graffiti. Stones- Sticky Fingers. Beatles- Abbey Road

Now if you were asking my son, he'd tell you it was that Nirvana album with the baby swimming after the dollar bill.

I think in the last couple years the idea of having a cool album cover has gone downhill. Seems like people don't pay attention to them anymore because they either illegally download an album off of a bit torrent or itunes. Either way things are not the same!

Sargent pepper's lonely hearts club band is a pretty epic album cover also.

Sucks but in a vote around the world it's probably this weirdos cover just before the albums went out and CDs came in.

Pink Floyds my favorite.

Posting from my blackberry, but the first one that popped into my head when I read the post title was Boston.

As far as notorious goes, 2112, If you want blood and Number of the Beast have to be up there.

I have Sticky Fingers on original vynl. Way to go Mr. Warhol! :)

I have that one as well as the White album on white vinyl that is also unopened, embossed and a half speed master copy.

Might not be an album cover, but what this girl did to my 80's metal mongering hormone imbalance... lets just say, at the time the dirty things I would have done to her would make Stecz's sheep blush......

Take your pick....

Edit: Note he said "Most Famous" not Greatest.....I just wanted to clarify that. It would be incredibly gay of me to post the Born in the USA as the "Greatest".....

This may seem sad to some but I don't own a single vinyl record/album........

I do have a 200+ CD collection but don't yet own an Ipod.......you could say I am stuck between music mediums.

Don't worry about it. Bask in the beauty of youth.

Hell, If it makes you feel any better, I don't own any Vinyl, 8 Tracks, and never really owned but 1 or 2 cassettes before CD's became the mainstay...

The only cassette I can think of actually was Garth Brooks' Ropin the Wind...

It's a Southern thing!

I've got that album (before they took the flames off) and probably 350-400 others. Took them all to a place that buys records and they didn't want any of them except for 3 albums. They offered me 50 cents each for the three.....I told 'em to eat chit and left! :D I have seen the Skynard album on Ebay for about 40 bucks.

Here ya go...

That's funny. I just had one of those semi-drunk music debates with a guy a little while back. He was trying to make the point that he was more hardcore than I. He asked me whjat CD I had in my car right now. I told him I had a 6-disk unit but of the six, first was AC/DC If You Want Blood... he stopped me and said never mind, you win. The other five- Rush- ATWAS, Tool- Aenima, Zepplein- side 1, Houses, Sabbath, We Sold our Souls, and Thin Lizzy- Live & Dangerous. He almost cried.
