not that kind of waxed. well after almost 30 hours i'm done. clay bared the deck. wheeled the whole boat top to bottom. were i couldn't get the wheel i use cleaner wax. and then 2 coats of wax. that sucked. i will be paying for that detail job next time. but it sure looks nice. see ya on the water.

I just got my boat detailed and to be honest, if you're the type of person willing to put that effort into the boat, you'll probably end up being disappointed. I pulled the cover off after and was really suprised to see how little they did. I spent the morning after cleaning the boat again myself...

I agree. I have spent a lot of money trying out several different detail shops. This year the wife and I did it ourselves. I ordered the Leverage Marine kit and the boat looks awesome. Well worth our time and effort, it's the best it's ever looked because I took the time to get all the little nooks and crannies.

I bought on of those "speed balls" designed to be used on and electric drill. Works great for getting into small areas etc.

I feel your pain, just spent 12 hours doing hull sides, the rub rail to water line. On a customers boat , and it was only a 29'. You going to be in South haven for Harbor fest next month? We have a big crew showing up.

I know the feeling...last month, I spent two entire weekends (literally) detailing the boat inside and out. But man, what a satisfying job. I've paid people to do it before, but it's never looked so good, as doing it myself.

Of course we all want to get into the water, but half the fun is having the boat in the driveway for a week or so, so I can clean, wax, detail and consider what other upgrades I'd like to do over the summer. Even the neighbor next door comes over and we hoist some of the little neighborhood kids up into the boat (sans shoes) and let 'em play "Boat Captain" for a little bit...:)

"Hey Tommy - be careful. Let me know when you're ready to come down off the boat.."

"Sissy - please put that bottle of vodka back in the cabin where you found it..."

"Josh! Keep your f*ckin' hands off the shifter and leave those g*ddamn trim tabs alone!"

Thats too bad. I have a detailing business and I go over each boat with the customer when Im done just to make sure, and so that I can have another set of eyes looking at it. I do whatever it takes to cover each surface, and every inch.

Well...spent about 12 hrs buffing and waxing this past weekend....was kind of mad when I realized that this was the best the boat was going to look all summer and I didn't have a camera with me. The Leverage products worked out great. This week I have to get the interior done, then a little work on the trailer and I will be all good to splash this weekend!
