What seems to be the problem? A little further and the boat will be floating.

If that were near Toronto's harbour, I would consider it normal. If you boat thru the islands you have to be on constant guard for the Vietnamese in row boats who seem to like rowing stern first with the bow behind them. :)

I advise visitors and first time harbour boaters to keep a paddle or long boat pole handy to fend off aluminum transom strikes right Adam? :)

I saw this one first hand today. I was at the ramp waiting for Outerlimits to run a 52SL. Now here comes a guy with his fish boat on a little crappy roller trailer, no tie down or wench strap. He starts to back down the somewhat steep ramp and boom! The boat's ass is sitting on the ground! I couldnt believe it. Then OL comes and tries to help the guy but he wants none of it and then calls the police to help him. People these days. What baffled me was the moron that owned the boat has the cops go over and talk to Fiore like they had something to do with it! Complete BS!!! All OL did was try to help the moron. Then while that boat is on the gorund still, a person come in with a little fiberglass boat and runs the boat right up on the concrete ramp itself so he can get off to go get his truck and trailer!! I couldnt believe it! Here's some pics.

If I didn't have a boat of my own I would set up shop at a ramp and just watch the morons go at it. Great entertainment!

boat ramps = big entertainment. I have seen alot of funnies myself. Guy in a bayliner trying to pull out with half the boat on the trailer, plenty of people who forgot to put in the plugs, and people backing into the docks knocking of trailer fenders or damaging the boat. Pretty amusing when my wife can slide our rig into the water prefect!!!!!!

There used to be whole threads dedicated on the old hotboat site to a launch ramp (Site 6) in Havasu with pics of all the stupid sh!t people would do. You would see easily 100 people chillin' drinking beers and watching the follies. The ramp was tricky itself, very narrow, very slippery. Then ad the fact most were intoxicated trying to load boats. Just made for some good entertainment I guess.:sifone:

My only miscue was not raising the drive once (with my first boat) when I loaded it on the trailer. Dragged that bittch about 100 yards, gouging the asphalt alllllllll the way

Saw a good one yesterday...its low tide so the guy backs his trailer down to the edge of the ramp with the bunks barely in the water. It looked at first like he tried to get a running start and drive his boat up, and when that didn't work he put his drive up all the way and thought he could just throttle it up. Here's the best part...there is a lady sitting in a bow rider about 20 ft behind him (with her back to the boat getting on the trailer), he hits the throttle and sends a massive rooster tail 30 ft back drenching this poor lady and the boat she is in. Me and another guy getting ready to pull our boats (who happened to have an OSO shirt on) looked and eachother and with out saying a word pulled our boats to the side where they were far away from the idiots taking there boats out at the end of the day. I came back three hours later with plenty of water and no idiots around.

these were taken at Riverside Inn on the San Jacinto 5/17/09 found them on another members only forum so I thought I'd post them here.

Apparently the Hummers owner drove down the ramp to jump start a boat and left it in gear. completely submerged.

The inn is mostly repaired after Ike's storm surge and the subsequent river flooding.

Oy vay, I had forgotten the value of rack storage prior to last weekend when I had to put two boats in/out by ramp. The worst was on Monday when I watched some jack-off pull his boat until the trailer tires were just barely out of the water (17 foot 1970-something on a trailer with golf cart tires), then go through his unload, after he already spent about 10 minutes just trying to get it on the trailer after I got there, who knows how long he was there before I got there. After he finally moved, I put in a 40 foot trailer and we had boat (38 TG) on trailer, strapped, wiped down and leaving in about 3 minutes. Him, his wife and his buddy were still standing there looking at us as we left the marina :D
