(to put my cut/paste in context the article is talking about boat owners ditching their vessels vs paying maintenance and/or payments on them)

California is taking a more benign approach, with plans in the Legislature for a boater bailout of sorts. Under a law proposed by State Representative Ted Lieu, owners of marginally seaworthy vessels would be encouraged to surrender them to the state.

Wow, in a way this new CA law would be awesome for me. Since I pay taxes in CA, that means I just bought a whole sh*tload of new boats!

We should hire these guys to deal with it...
