Im looking for a new boat. I got rid of the Velocity a few years ago and now Im stuck with the Trophy capable of reach blistering speeds (38mph).

Im looking for my next go fast. No more V-hulls either. I've been looking at cats (Skater,Motion,Spectre,Nortech) and so far Nortech is WAY out of my range. Spectre and Motion cats just dont look that appealing to me. There are several Skaters in the OSO classifieds at good pricing. Let me know what you guys think. I'm looking to stay within the 200k mark (maybe a little over)

Should I be worried? After all, it is a Skater:drool5: This is my first cat so should I be leaning towards something smaller?
If those don't look like good candidates then maybe this would be better? http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifieds/2006_motion_35_xp-o27904-en.html

Feel free to share your 2 cents or point me in the direction of a better deal:sifone:

And of course.....no thread would be complete without mentioning Stecz. Your a homo:26:

Shop insurance before you get serious about looking at a cat. No prior cat experience makes it very expensive- if you can find someone to write you at all.

I understand that insurance will be a lot. I might end up buying a newer Cig. Who knows. Im just looking for input on Skaters/Motions. My biggest concern is the age of a boat that was more than likely run pretty hard:)

World Champ 2007 / 4 seat MTI that Mr. Smith has for sale now at $169k listed, he tought he had it sold when I called before buying Drambuie...

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifieds/2007_mti_40_039_new_price3_14_09_blow_out-o27330-en.html

Count about $60-80k for rigging if you shop a little, means your in a World Champion boat for well under $250k. Boat ran solid 130s and even saw 140's with 525's.

That my friends is the deal of the decade currently. If we win another contract and that thing is still available I am also getting it!

Wow. Didn't think it would put up those kinds of numbers with 525's. I will definitely be adding this one to my short list:)

I know the boat and is as clean as the pictures show. I would think he'd be willing to come down on price to move it before summer.

I used to own a 42 with 525's and it was an all around very nice boat. I think the insurance may be an issue on a cat especially if you don't pay cash for it all.
