guy was spearfishing in the gulf, 12' tiger shark attacked... diver 1 shark zero

tigers are much more aggressive than great whites, plus whites usually bite and release, tigers don't give up

Spearfishing is ALWAYS a strange experience...with the big fish and seals following you around thinking its much easier to get your little fish off the string than to catch one of their own.... It's part of the game!

Line shaft it, hook to floatline, get back in boat and fight it from there.

:rant::rant:I think the whole thing is a farce.... now way can free-dive WRESTLE anything for 2 hours... not one hour... My expertise is SCUBA....and you CANNOT do it w that! I am betting some NEWS folks get on this and sort it out....
Does NOT Make sense...on any level................

Its not a farce, also not the first time something like it has been done. Some of theese hardcore spearos are just plain fuking nuts.

i've done some spear fishing in the area this shark was shot. Its a very dangerous game of hunting & it's real easy to get hurt. The numbers of fish on these rigs is staggering, it makes reef diving seam kid of lame. I've been followed around by huge schools of barracuda 5ft long & that was intimidating enough for me,these guys have brass balls!!
