Hello, I have a new nephew and this summer he will need a life jacket. (he's only 2 weeks old) Are there better designs then others? better brands then others? I am new to this kid thing LOL! I am looking at the ones that are full jackets with crotch straps and the extra floatin collar thing with the handle behind their head. I would like to buy a infant and also a larger child life jacket for a baby gift for my sister & husband, price is no object.

any advice or recommendations are always apprecaited.

Thank you

Travis

First, post pics of the MILF!!

Make sure it has the strap that goes through the legs, and probably one that will turn the child onto their back if they fall in...we have those at the swim school.

That sounds like the standard design for the infant PFD and are the same as what my kids wore. BTW, the kid will hate it at first. The next size is for toddlers and it loses the head flotation and strap.

Small world...I just bought one today for our son (who's 3 weeks Wed). We're planning on taking him to the desert storm poker run so when I saw it at Costco today, I snatched it up for 30 bucks.

It's a newborn to 30 lb. made by "HOSports". It is designed exactly the way you are talking about. Pretty cool little jacket.

I used the same ones a described above when my son was an infant. Like said above most kids hate the jackets at first. One other thing to consider is when kids get older enough to swim is to have one jacket for swimming and the other for staying dry in the boat.

Naa I didn't. Ended up with a lady the same age as myself, no kids either.

were "suppose" to be getting married in september, we'll see if the upcoming months get better :( Been looking for houses, but the money people don't want to lend money to anybody on unemployment, so we have to wait till I start back up workin at the end of the month, if she knew what kinda motor upgrade I am doin to the boat, I bet she would end it right now :26:

Mustang is the best.
You really need to try them on each individual child for proper fit
That being said they will outgrow a 50 dollar mustang in no time.
Get something USCG aproved that fits.
Neoprene is more comfy.

We just bought neoprene for the next size up for this season. Be interesting to see if the "little bit" likes it any better.

Just teach em this little saying right from the get go.

No coat, no boat.

They learn real quick those little suckers do.

I bought my nephew a neoprene jacket from Costco a couple of years ago - best price around. Now, I have to buy another one for the newest nephew..

Ditto the "no coat no boat" i have three kids (10 yrs, 8yrs, and 4yrs)the don't ask they just get them out and put them on. I also took them with me to the store and let them try on a few and pick out their own.

I'll look tonight and see what they have.

My kids get nervous if they are on the boat with out there jacket when it's on the trailer. But they have been boating long before they were even born.

I've got a number of small jackets... I'm sure I have some of the infant ones... Let me know if you need one... you pay for shipping and I'll send it your way. I'm sure shipping can't be too much. In fact I can send you a couple. PM me if you need one. They are the ones that have a couple buckles, the pad behind the head w/a handle and the crotch strap.
