I'm home sick for the second day. They do not want anyone at work who is sick to be at work. All I have done is sleep, sleep, sleep. I feel better today than yesterday so will most likely be back to work tomorrow.

I need to wash the sheets and get the sicky crud off them and jump in the shower and make myself feel like a person again.

I hate being sick.

I don't like dressing up either, but it only happens a few times a year, right??

We are going tree shopping Sunday I believe. Rob's BD is Monday so we're getting together with friends Saturday night, then we'll get the tree picked out and start decorating it this coming week. Nice out today, but I don't think it's going to last all day. So far the four letter "s" word they have been talking about all week hasn't produced anything...yet. We all know that luck will run out soon. :(

Well, almost done shopping but not yet. Thought we'd get a lot done last night, but that didn't happen.

Rob's dad, who is 64, wants a watch for Christmas, and he doesn't have the best eye sight. It's not easy to buy a watch for someone with so-so eye sight. You really have to look at the faces, make sure you can read it, plus it has to come with the snappable band, not the stretch band that pulls your arms hairs out of you.

And I have to find a bird feeder. In the middle of December. :boxing_smiley:

Honestly, the lake has been flat, maybe a 1 to 2' chop here and there, no snow, no ice. Cold, but it's been good boating weather. (ok, who the hell am I trying to kid? Just trying to give Brooks a run for his money). :sifone:

You roll peanut butter into a ball then dip the peanut butter almost all the way into melted chocolate, leaving just the top portion uncovered to resemble a buckeye.

Well the snow did create some challenges after all. When it snows in Brooklyn, they'l just leave enough room for you to get up the street to deliver.....if you're lucky.
Just another day in the city.

Pretty sure the dude that unloaded me was Phragle's brother. The mirror on the forklift is in the way, but he was a dead ringer.:D

Scarab KV
12-22-2009, 01:21 AM
Long Island got blasted. last stop of the day was a bit of a biotch. After knocking down 3' snow banks with the trailer on every turn I had to make to get to the stop, I find a car (on left) park by the gate to the dock that needs to be moved or be run over by the trailer going in. The car is actually parked on the street, that's just how they plow. One lane through and let everyone deal with the rest.
Pic was after the cars across the street were moved so I could do what I needed to get the freight off.

btw......don't look Brooks:D

Scarab KV
12-22-2009, 02:03 AM
What ever it takes:rolleyes:

After bang'n on doors at the surrounding businesses looking for the owner of the car with no success I tell the Jamaican dude who's gonna unload me (I think he was still in island mode) that we're gonna have to unload in the street. He tells me he won't go in the street with the forklift because of the snow, but will unload me in the parking lot....which btw had snow on it too. Must be Demons at the curb or something. Well I explain to him that if I could make it into the lot, I would've just backed into the dock....will you meet me half way at the curb? He says "OK Mon, I go as far as the curb "

Driver 1
Curb Demons 0

Alrighty then. Make the rounds bang'n on doors again, to get four cars across the street moved so I can wiggle around enough to get the tail of the trailer past the Demons so my boy can get his freight off.

Now for the clincher.
After we're all done and I'm backing down the street to get out of there, the business owner from across the street who's employees all had to move their cars, walks out and gets in the car that was blocking the gate and drives away.:cuss:

I'm riding with my buddy from Ormond Beach to my parents house in St Pete tomorrow, then turning around coming back on Christmas. My sister, Barb, already called mom so she can have breakfast with me, since I will probably have to leave before everyone else gets to mom's for dinner.

Yep! :)

Had a Christmas party last night. Too many mimosa's. :ack2:

Another party tonight. Spend Thursday getting ready for Friday. Friday a house full. Saturday drive 1.5 hours to have Christmas with Rob's dad and his family, surprise 60th BD that evening, and Sunday is another party.

I'm tired.

I am trying to decide if I am still drunk or just tired. :o

2 more apperances tonight and then to the bar to have a few at another before hitting the sack. Come on 12/29- heading to Myrtle for 6 days!

Took everyone fishing yesterday, I caught a baby hammerhead shark, everyone else caught real fish, the weather was nice and the seas were calm so it was fun. Going to the Dolphin game today, that will be a first sitting outside at a football game in December with short sleeves.

What a great day it looks like Brooks.

We had a very, very busy Christmas Eve, Christmas day and Christmas Saturday. Ugh. One more dinner this afternoon than we can relax....until New Year's Eve. :ack2:

I forgot that my friend that I've known since I moved to Florida in 1971 was coming over. He lives in Alabama now, but was in Venice for work. He came over yesterday, and stayed until this afternoon. We had a good time recalling old war stories. He was also my first roomate.

John is on the far right. This is our garage band in the 70's. :) The blonde guy was my best friend in high school.

Ok....you might have something with this Florida/Keys thing.
I drove in snow from the time I left the house until midway across Ohio. Had a close call on a curve in IN last night. The loosest I've ever felt a truck get under me.
I believe there may have been puckerage.:o

Hubbards Marina is on Mad Beach at John's Pass, right before Treasure Island and Sunset Beach. I live on Sunset Beach. I wished I'd never left. I lived on the beach, worked on the beach, and partied on the beach. That's where I was living when I met my ex wife. :(

I know John's Pass very well. We got married in Treasure Island and I vacationed in Indian Rocks Beach for 4 years straight. One of my favorite areas.
