While I can see a suit doesn't necessarily make a person better for a job, it does show a level of detail and committement and just what sort of person that person is. I think that's harder to see in casual clothes. For instance, does the suit fit right? Does it all go together (no brown shoes and black pants...)? If a person pays that level of attention to how they dress, then most likely they'll pay attention to the details of a job that they do.

I always have kind of a hard time explaining what I do. Too general and it could be anything, too specific and nobody knows what the F I'm talking about.

Most of the time I tell people that I'm semi-retired. I'll generally explain that I was in a marginally sucessful spanish language only punk rock band called the "Muchaleros" in the early '90s and I live off the royalties from that and some investing... Of course that's probably total horse-sh*t... :D

Im kinda disappointed to read that from you. I would have thought you would judge the person based on what they said, how they spoke to you ... what kinda feel you got from the person by communicating with them. Guess thats just me ... but then again I work with attorneys and bankers everyday that are total idiots and guess what ... they all wear suits... so I have to base my opinion and trust in what they say to me and how they say it... cuz you know ... they all look alike :D

Depending on the job, a suit is appropriate in interviews. Just that many of my peers are decked out in sportcoats and suits (almost always sans tie though, which is funny) while milling around the office....

I look at it this way - if I have two people that are very similiar in what they do, then you have to look beyond that for who they are and an attention to detail. Let's put it this way - if you have two cars with the same engine that are the same price, but one has pretty shinny stainless and a good wax/wash job and one is a little rusty and hasn't been cleaned in awhile, which one are you going to choose?

Speakin of Wheaties .... my day started out with me pouring my bowl of Frosted Flakes and then over turning the bowl and knocking most of them on the floor ... some stayed on the counter but I couldnt remember if I wiped that counter off when I did dishes yesterday so I didnt take any chances and threw them away too (wasteful I know). Round two ... pour the second bowl successfully ... add milk ... sit down at the computer ... take a bite ... then sneeze. Lucky I didnt blow Frosted Flakes all over the screen and key board

Besdies, I don't care what any one person looks like. Some of the most handsome men and beautiful women I know suck at being people. To me they are not one bit attractive. Looks play no role in any of it personally.

What an interesting evening .... went over to Mansfield with two of my girlie friends.... shopping .... Angie wanted to get something "fit for Vegas" and I needed ... oh man ... I hate to even admit it ... some kinda bag :eek: I know I know ... NOT a purse ... dear God .. me carry a purse .. give me the he be gee bees just thinking about it (hard to believe I dont carry a purse huh :rofl:) Ok so ... the other day one of my girls comes in and shes got this bag. Turns out its called a hobo bag but its kinda small ... definitely not big ... and its black with a white skull on it. I couldnt believe it ... I mean ... I could actually stand to be seen carrying this thing. Perfect for Vegas. I decided I need something that I can put my phone, my cash, my license, my lip ****, and my camera in for out there. I mean ... I cant have stuff in my hands AND hold a drink AND pull a lever altho Ive since discovered the slot machines no longer have levers .. Wow .. what will they think of next :D So anyway ... they didnt have what I was lookin for and nothing else was quite right ... Do I look like I should be carrying something with neon peace signs on it .... I think not. My girl is gonna let me borrow hers if I dont find something else between now and then. Ive even looked online at that store and ebay and did a search for the bag (its a Parcel) but no luck... now Im thinkin that may not be a good sign .. or ... maybe it is .... no luck before I go to Vegas :sifone:
