The cool thing about Daytona is just about everyone has a chance to win. Not just the fastest or best funded team. There are so many variables, many of which no one has any control over. So you prepare the best you can, get up, say a prayer, and go racing.

Buoy

I followed NASCAR for awhile in the early to mid 90's, but kind of lost interest.
I was always a Terry Labonte fan (starting last in the field this year), or I also liked the Burton brothers - just because I couldn't figure out how they grew up together, and Jeff could speak clearly, and you could barely understand what the hell Ward was trying to say.

That's is the exact same description I have used for people I know from Fountain. That deep south accent. Funny thing is the deepest south accent is found in eastern North Carolina.

I think it was a judgment call. They tire changer looks down and sees the line. In his mind he was good. The jack man pushes the official out of the way. that didn't help. When the official was pointing the tire was off already.

But he can't see the whole track from there. Our fall Martinsville seats are on the 59th row just right of the start finish line. We can see every thing but the first few pit stalls. I'll give you the new kid crashes but Vicker's wasn't the reason half of the fast cars were wrecked it was your boy "Ironhead Jr"... he lived up to his daddies moniker today...right or wrong they were both a lap down and fighting for the stupid "lucky dog" and "Jr" took him and most of the leading cars out and should have been set for at least "five" laps like they did to Lefler in the Nationwide race for something that was half as bad and only spun one car....

Jr. went way below the double yellow when he tagged Vickers the first time and when that didn't work he went on and hit him again to wreck a lot of good front running cars on the lead lap....you can say all you want but with the rules and the double yellow it doesn't matter how fast your going you should at least have the ability to control your car when attempting to pass....

I might excuse the first hit on Vickers car but as "DW" just said on Speed turning up that abruptly into him the second time was a lack of judgement and caused the big one....seems he has the Nascar god's on his side but in my opinion should have been brought in and penalized for aggressive or rough driving...the car in front {Vickers) was on the same lap and has every right to drop down and protect his line on a restart....just because Jr. laid back and had a run doesn't give him the right to run over another car...

I have to agree. that was entirely Jr's fault. if he would have lifted slightly while way below the pack and then slid up nothing would have happened. no one is really crying foul because Jr is like the golden boy.
