It's the official—Race World Offshore has cancelled the first day of racing in Key West, Fla., because of high winds in tomorrow's forecast.

Hopefully the wind will die down enough to allow the cranes to put boats in tomorrow, and do some testing!

remember when offshore boats were built to run in these conditions.
not complaining.just thinkin back .

This time it had nothing to do with the boats and the teams. It was an OSHA safety clause that the cranes are not allowed to operate whenever the wind gusts exceed 25 mph.

I guess it makes sense when there is a big offshore boat hanging out there on a cable......

dangerous even in calm conditions .
I was standing next to an old p-2 fountain when it broke loose and hit the ground in marathon one year.
