Powered by staggered Mercury Racing 860 engines, the Donzi 38 ZRC returns in fine fashion, https://speedonthewater.com/new-boats-engines/6575-profile-donzi-38-zrc-welcome-back-stunner.

A time machine. Because it actually has engines IN the boat.

You know, you talk about that and it's a tough one to figure out.

Basically, a pair of 450 outboards are around $100,000. A pair of 1100 mercs are around $150,000.

A 36 Skater will go around 125 with a pair of 450's, maybe in the 130's barely if you did one of those no fuel, perfect wind, slight ripple, one little guy driving, back seat removed, perfect condition runs like some do. And you'll have a 3 year warranty.

A 36 Skater with a pair of 1100's will run 165 to 170, with 6 people and a half tank of fuel still 160. And you'll have a 2 year warranty. Heck, the 478 Skater Vee ran 125 with 1100's.

And the kicker, the 1100 runs on 89 Octane just like the 450.

To me, it seems the 1100 is the only way to go if you're in the market for a true high performance boat. If you want to go fishing in salt water, get the outboards and watch the other guy go by 50 or 60 mph faster.
