Despite varying testing conditions, it was still fun to compare Mercury Racing’s new 300R to its Verado 400R in terms of powering MTI’s twin-engine 34-foot cat.

I guess that doesn't surprise me on the 4000 rpm cruise speed. The 400 is rated at 7000 rpm max and the 300 V8 is rated at 6000 rpm max.
