I was in the Lakeland , Florida area yesterday shooting some planes. In a retention pond in front of me there where several turtles, then the following creature stuck its head above the water, at first I thought maybe a baby gator, then in the second pic, its body surfaced, dont know what the hell it is. Any clues??

My guess is a medium sized snake with a small pig inside of it. All the fat in the pig would lean to the buoyancy of the snake's middle section.

Well the mystery is over it is a soft-shell turtle, one of my co workers, did some investigating and that is what it was!

We have a soft shel that suns on the turtle board in my backyard that makes that one look like a pup.. Those suckers get huge down here...

Looks like a weird pee pee with eyes. We have one around our dock in Florida. I've cought him two times. Had to grab the hook with pliers and shake him off.
