A Perth father is in a critical condition in intensive care after being seriously injured in a high-speed boat crash at the weekend.
Anthony Knight, 40, was pulled unconscious from the water when his boat collided with another speedboat vessel at 100km/h on the Swan River at 3pm on Sunday.
He has been in an induced coma at Royal Perth Hospital after suffering a broken pelvis, ribs and a punctured lung after he was tossed from his boat.
Mr Knight underwent extensive surgery on Monday night and is currently in a critical condition, according to the hospital.
The crash occurred during the final lap of the WA Speed Boat Club’s final championship race on Sunday - it was the fourth race Mr Knight had participated in that day.
Footage of the incident shows the two boats colliding and Mr Knight falling out of his boat midway through the air.
