Most of us know the story, but there are some good interviews/images.

Our latest 30 for 30 documentary short tells the story of Don Aronow and the cigarette boat empire that killed him - Grantland (http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9717084/our-latest-30-30-documentary-short-tells-story-don-aronow-cigarette-boat-empire-killed-him)

Looks interesting, I'll watch it later. Last thing I saw on Aronow was an episode of City Confidential on A&E.

I've always believed that the cartels were responsible.
Something about selling boats to the Feds and the Cartels wouldn't sit well with one of them...

Only problem with that old theory is that the boats he sold to feds (the Blue Thunder Cats) couldn't catch a cold must less a truly fast boat.

So your opinion is it was the Feds???????:sifone:

Very true, but anytime you're playing both sides of the fence...

Ever cheat on a girlfriend?
She may be the hottest thing around, and the girl you cheated with was maybe 5 out of 10.
You're still a dead man...

Anyone here actually know Ben? Not just talk to him at a boatrace, but really "know" him enough to consider him your friend?

It may have been a rhetorical question.
Like a statement, but different.

Can't say that I blame you. But, will you be including more information about your relationship with Ben Kramer, when your new book comes out?

Man, that would be really cool if Rich did write a book. The historical insight of some of those he raced with and announced about would be really interesting. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I'm down for two copies.
One to read, and one to add to my little library.

Not to mention his writing style and quality, which I have always enjoyed.

How does this grab you...?

The Book will be coffee table sized with beautiful leather binding. The cover will be hand etched and inlaid with a picture of the Sistine Chapel's ceiling cut in half by a race boat blazing through it, leaving a trail of coke.... The title will be emblazoned in real gold leaf-- "The Greatest Story Never Told"

and all the pages will be blank.

I figure I can get $500/copy from the guys in the UAE, plus background cash from the many people who don't want to be mentioned.

So every blank page would have a sponsor??????:sifone:

I have a book called "The Deep" by Margaret Keenan that is big enough to be a coffee table. It's 24" by 17" and fits nowhere. You could do similar.....

Seriously, are you truely publishing a performance boat history book or not? It would be a fantastic story to tell.
