We've all wondered about it. Especially since some of the center console fishing tournament races have a larger attendance than many true "Offshore" races. Well, now their own Poker Run. Comments?


The Bimini Sportboat Poker Run is our Sportboat Division event. This poker run is exclusive to our members with outboard center console and express cruiser style boats with cruising speeds that do NOT exceed 55 mph. The Bimini Sportboat Poker Run isn't about the speed, it's about the experience!

Bimini Sport Boat Poker Run Dates:
June 28-30, 2013

General Agenda & Activities
Thursday June 27: Boats arrive at Pier 66, Fort Lauderdale
Cocktails, check-in and captains meeting.

Friday, June 28th: Departure from Fort Lauderdale, 7 am.
Arrival at Bimini Big Game Club. Clear customs.
Daytime activities: Area cruising.

Saturday June 29th: Area Cruising. Lunch Fun Run to Cat Cay. Raft up & snorkeling at the Concrete Ship and Honeymoon Harbor

Sunday, June 30th:
Boats return to Fort Lauderdale.

Event Fee
$395 per boat. NO crew fee. (Functions & catering are on a cash basis)

Bahamas Poker Run Fee Includes:
All trip planning, including reservations for rooms & dockage on behalf of participants, providing necessary flags to clear customs. This is a new low-cost event fee structure, exclusively for this event. Video coverage and photos will be taken, however no helicopter will be used for this event.

MANDATORY ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


Applicants for participation in the Bahamas Poker Run must meet the following requirements with no exceptions:

1. Registered boat owner must be an active member with Florida Powerboat Club. (social or video membership are not qualified member programs)

2. Registered boats may be approximately 25-80 feet in length, and must be fully insured with liability coverages. A proof of insurance must be submitted in the form of a declaration page. (Detailed and accurate engine data, horesepower and performance specifications must also be submitted to company officials.)

3. All captains & co-drivers must attend a mandatory poker run captains safety meeting on the evening prior to departure, at the Biscayne Marriott Miami. Captains will sign a safety waiver which includes compliance with guidelines that include: No consumption of Alcoholic beverages or medications that diminish operating skills prior to or during the poker run.

4. ALL OCCUPANTS (including passengers) of the vessel must sign safety waiver provided by Florida Powerboat Club prior to departure.

5. All OCCUPANTS are required to wear USCG approved Personal floation devices during on-plane operation. Exceptions will be made in the case of Lifeline or other specialty safety products that do may carry the USCG official approval.

6. All participants are required to have their vessels in compliance with USCG safety standards.

Most of the triple and quad engine center consoles have a "Cruising Speed" of more than 55 though. How is that checked I wonder?:sifone:


It would be a fun trip to go on.
