DAVE!!!!! Glad to see him get that beast out for some fun!

Most likely testing some of the new octane booster he's been working on.

Being that Holland is such a quiet sailboater community...they have to LOVE him!

Funny, most people go out for dinner or have a few drinks to relax, Dave straps on a few 1000hp and decompressed. I remember going up for a water test with a buddy and him telling us his wife insisted on going to dinner and while she was reading a book on the way there in "their sweet sports car", she looked over and said Dave, do you really have to drive that fast to dinner? And of course he said she went back to reading. Would love to see him hit a few races, his work is fun to watch not to mention boat on all summer.

Mike you are right we where testing the race boat on 92oct fuel in the main tanks and BOOSTane in the system tank. The engines are set up 1350hp with 16lbs of boost. We ran the boat hard for 35min.My goal is to run a full race on regular 89 fuel.

Mark and I are real close to releasing the product and the system.

You might see a little more of Jaws next year.

Curious to see what you guys are doing. I did a lot of 'blending' in my nitrous days. Still ended up with ashtrays. Mixing 92 with 118 doesn't equal 105. The lower octane fuel in the mix still detonates.

I must have been half asleep last night not to think to ask if you're working on a water injection kit ;)

Dave, i saw the boat on lake mac and when i cruised thru Anchor Marine coming back from lunch at OBI i saw the boat once again getting pre paired to be hauled out by the slings and to tell you the truth it has been a long time in the making since i first worked on the ole gal at Skater to now , and just curious what is your old partner Mr , Kasier up to these days ?...............................Artie

Well...the detonation control options are pretty limited.

Guessing a fuel additive...

or a system to variably add an addidtive as needed

am I close???

Just the beginning of what BOOSTane is going to be able to bring to the high performance market. A viable and most of reliable option for increasing fuel octane levels and varying octane7468574686

So what makes it different from the other products on the market?

This is an article I came across years ago for those interested. It's actually what made me realize 'blending' wasn't going to satisfy my cylinder psi needs. I switched to 118 and no more ashtrays. I'll be skeptical of the performance claims of additives until I see some data.

They certainly have a great test platform with 16 lbs of boost on 89 pump fuel.......

If Dave fails, maybe he'll donate to your ashtray collection.....:)

The problem with roots style blowers is the inability to cool the charge. You'll never get the boost out of them that you could from a centrifugal supercharger on the same octane. The centrifugal's are getting almost 30lbs of boost on 93 octane thanks to the far more efficient intercoolers. They're a better system all the way around for pump gas. It took a few years for the fuel management and ignition systems to catch up but now that they have I'm not sure why anyone looking to maximize their hp would still be running roots type blowers. Now if they could just look as cool as a big ass roots blower! ;)

I started testing the fluid first on the dyno, then to drag boats, pro street cars then on to offshore boats before bringing it to market. The testing was done on several different engines.First on a supercharged 598ci running 93 fuel running 14 lbs of boost. After running through 100 gal of fuel on the dyno with the the BOOSTane system on the engine with no problems.Using the same engine and the same 93 fuel testing with 14 lbs of boost at 6200 rpm in the middle of the test the system was turned off 8 seconds later the engine lost two pistons. The engine was re-paired and went back to the dyno and re-tested again with BOOSTane and no problems. For the last three years we have moved on to test in offshore boats 48 Express Cat,40 Skater,47 XXX Outer Limits and the 46 Skater with no problems.

What makes the BOOStane different than others we have years of real product testing in the lab,on the dyno,on the road and in the water.

This winter we are testing BOOSTane on procharged and nitrous drag race engines. Also working on a system for stock boat engines at WOT.

What's the 'system'? You're plumbing the additive in separate from the primary fuel supply? i.e. spray bar?

Dave nailed it. Its intensive product testing coupled with our proprietary carrier that sets apart from the competitors. We aren't here to tell people to pour something into there fuel tanks and ask them to trust us, we are only operating with substantiated results. If anyone is interested in staying up to date on releases, results, and promotional releases and trials, shoot me your email and I will put you on our email list.

Watch out for Rex...he'll take your arm off!

Dave...the red boat ran AWESOME after her latest operation...turning RPMs that I hadn't seen all summer! Thanks again for the great work!

Now that its running so well...it's time to sell! Lol.

We are close to releasing BOOStane we are getting all the paper work MSDS sheets so we can ship the product UPS.

The system is different for each type of engine blown,EFI or carb we are building systems for each application.

Well, we did make it over to chat with Dave and see some of his current projects. It was nice to climb all over Jaws and take a close up look at the sweet ride. The one-time world record holder appears to be ready to go after another record if so desired.

One other thing that was very interesting, Dave's Sweet 16 engine he is building. Two 572 (I believe) Chevy's linked together to make a 16 cylinder engine that firs every 45 degrees instead of at 90 degrees. AWESOME!!!

When Dave takes time to go "out" for dinner, sometimes it's at a cruising speed of about 100-120+mph in one of his cat boats---and that's usually from Holland to Muskegon (he usually goes to the restaurant "Dockers")...about a 65-70 mile round trip.

We stopped back by there last Thursday to chat about turbines because Bill and Tommy were over to review a turbine boat. Bill's trying to help Dave find some turbine parts. Always cool to see what Dave's up to at the time. The V16 is looking cool.
