We walked down to the beach yesterday, this time I had my baby Elph. It's not nearly as forgiving as the T1i, but got a couple of halfway okay shots.
I probably should work with them a little, but......

That part of the Lake has a hill under it! Maybe it is the Lake Erie thing, the wind was pushing more of the water to the left side of picture?
