On PBS......odd as it sounds , I found part 1 (watched after a day of NFL drinking) very interesting, part 2 is on tonight at various times.

Prohibition - The "Noble Experiment"

It was a stupid move by some well meaning people.

The laws against Marijuana are just and noble and just as stupid!

When was the last time you saw a seriously stoned guy get violent???? The phucker is kicking back in a lazy boy eating cheatos and watching the flintstones........

Its the guys trying to profit off it being illegal that are the violet ones.

Just imagine where we would be today if there were no RUM RUNNERS back then...

Some years ago I was going through my grandmother's old photographs after she had passed and found a picture of an old wooden boat with the name "cigar" on the back of it. I asked my mother what the story was behind the boat and she explained that her uncle would take the boat from Ohio to Canada and purchase alcohol and bring it back in the boat. I'm sure they only did it for "personal and medicinal" purposes only. LOL.

I will have to dig out that box and see if I can find that picture!

If you find it, we could do an entire thread on those stories (real and made up:sifone:)
