Some years back when my Dad passed away, and I was cleaning out his house, I came upon this Item. I have asked everyone I know what it is. Nobody has any idea as to what it is. I hate to throw it away with out knowing. Anyone have any ideas on what it is? Don

Don,
That is a Ladder Jack. That style was used back in the day when wooden ladders were common. But it appears you only have one, two are required to make a work/walk platform utilizing two ladders.

This thread reminds me of an old gameshow called The Liar's Club. A panel would take a mystery gadget such as this ladder jack, and 1 person would tell the truth about what it was, and the others would just BS the contestants. Contestants had to guess who was telling the truth. I was a little kid when it was on, but It was pretty cool for a burgeoning gadget guy like myself.
