Twin stock 200 hp outboards beat up on twin inboard boats in Key West.

They became Stock Class World Champions

Has any other cat manufacturer been able to do this? :sifone:

Who's the idiot that put that video together? Terrible. The cat is smaller lighter and has a better power to weight ratio than the V. The Hustler did a great job keeping up with the cat, he's the hero.

The Cat was 36 feet with stock 200's in fact one power head was borrowed from a fishing boat.

I will finish the story.

The boat then went to the ME where it was undefeated for two years after which it then won the UIM Championship.

The “S” Class length was then made to 10 Meters (New UIM Rule) the Cheetahcat was like 11 so effectively banning the boat.

Cat Dude The video was given to me and I am thankful to the person who shot it.

Here is a picture of the hull shell after I pulled it from the fixture the Hustler could float in here.

I build moldless which was fortunate in that case as the power kept coming down I was able to adjust for it. My target was #1200

Tim Sharkey I want to thank you for working with me to finish it!

Anytime ! :cheers2:

Nothing like finishing a one-off project just hours before the World Championship and then taking home the win !

It still blows me away that the boat managed to race so many more races over seas in big water with triples.

It sure poves one thing, the lighter the boat the softer the impact. And with the deadrise you have on that boat it just cuts through everything...

LOL Those was good days. Did it honourably through thought and hard work. The amazing thing was when you got to the shop it was like we had worked together for years and it got done.

Hey Steve, welcome aboard. Check out the glass section if you get a chance. Got a tricky one involving a Kevlar boat thats being discussed right now. Gingers got alot of experience with it, I think its a big roll of the dice. Pop in and give us you take on it. Always good to have another educated opinion.

Great Thread Tim. Keep the pics coming! Those clips are awesome!:D

I had it sitting on empty 5 gallon plastic buckets when another boat builder stopped outside and asked the weight! he got the clue when I picked the side up.

Cool video! That cat sure is running nice. Level and sticking to the water. Looks like the vee loosened up a couple times trying to squeek a few more inches on the cat. Both boats looked like they were running great.
