As summer boating and racing season kicks off across the country, I'd like to share this musical slide show link, provided by the internationally renowned photographer, Claes Axstal.
I had the pleasure to work with Claes on a story about his home, Gothenburg, Sweden as a yachting destination for the June 2010 issue of Yachts International Magazine (http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/b80684ab#/b80684ab/147). He visited the US last year for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (http://www.showmanagement.com/fort_lauderdale_international_boat_show_2010/event/?name=Hatter) and the Key West World Championships and took thousands of photographs. Though he has been in the States many times and done much work here for various companies, yacht and airplane manufacturers and agencies including the US Coast Guard, he was particularly impressed by the spectacle and power of our favorite Key West festival.
While Axstal's specialty in photography is his self-designed mega-flash technique that illuminates the subject--generally planes, helicopters and vessels of all types--his eye and talent are obvious in each shot of this entertaining opportunity to re-live Key West 2009!
