Ok, i am bored and loved the pics and info on Steve1's thread, so i thought i start a thread just about Powerplay, hope that Steve1 will chime in and post some pics....
I also hpe that this thread stays clean and it has nothing to do with any business management stuff of PP ,,just about Boats, how they where build and so on.

The Company build over 300 boats in 23, all are still today SOLID and perfect running if maintained correctly !!!!!!

They are all over the world and performance wise a true champion boat !!!

So lets go !!!!!

They are hard to find, because once u got it u really don't want to sell it.
I think 302's is for sale but then again i don't know if wants to or not ..he keeps changing his mind..lol :sifone:

They are so good that nobody wants go get rid of them...i know where there is a 6 man short staggered , brand new , unrigged ..but he is asking i believe 16 K for it ...and it has nothing ...hull, deck, trailer and i think seating dash and gimbals..thats it ?! :eek:
There are anyhow, a couple of outboard 33's ,,they run just as solid only a little slower..but again that depends on the engines u have ..i guess:cheers2:

I was a rigger at Powerplay for about six years, I won't go into any details about why I left or any of the other things about the business. I will say that I loved the boats we built and took pride in the job. I don't build boats any longer, but still own one. Here's a few pics from Defyn Gravity's 33' Powerplay.

Thanks, a buddy told me that someone was posting pics of Powerplay's from when I worked there so I came to check them out. If the Southern Nationals get rained out this weekend I'll look through the pictures that survived and see if I have anythign worth posting.

This is the only one I have had any experience with. It belonged to an old boss of mine. Had a chance to buy it a few years ago, wish I had many times. Was a sweet boat and a great ride. I spent alot of hours on it in the water and riggin a stereo system.

Stripped to metal and epoxied then Dupont base/clear. Been doing engines like that for years in cars and have no problem.

I have this 05 in my shop which belongs to JROMY. It was stolen last year and and un-rigged. I say that because the thieves took the 525's, its drives, tabs, pumps, throttles etc like surgeons. Waiting on insurance then ILMORS....:)

in the fall i think im going to do my boat the exact same as the orange 38 ZRC.......im going to match interior, gauges, paint, everything. i think that it will really bring out the lines of the boat if i keep it a single color, but that color really pops so it offsets the plainness of it.......

Ran 87-88 with stock 32s. 525s with Speedmaster shorties. Been on it about eight thousand times. Absolutely wonderful boat, maybe he had it a tick or two faster when I wasn't on it but I don't think so. I had a '97, we used to run 'em both down Long Island Sound, cool stuff if you're into PPs.

The pic i posted of the # 4 boat..also has a notched transom,,,,its a 92 or so...i think maybe they where done by request ?!

On my 1991 i had no notch..with the 500 Ci blue thunder engines ( 650 real HP ) and Imco -2, 1:36 gears and Bravo I 28 pitch on stellings boxes it still ran ~ 108 MPH....:eek:

Between 75-85 they kind of tend to walk a little but as soon as u hit 85 the just run straight as an arrow then after 95 they get a little loose..but still stable !!!!!!

PP baby its just one u need to be in at one point...mostly u never wanna part again !!!!!!

It was an older '89 or '90 if I recall which had some work done on it, supposedly by PP. It had a yellow and red (orange/red) flag graphic at the back half of the boat. It was Fred's best friend's boat from Wisconsin but I think Fred gave him the jerk too. It went to a buyer from LOTO who complained on OSO about it but the Fred d!ck lickers beat him down quick and he was never to be heard from again.

Thanks, I needed some cash flow fast to expand my company so I sold it to my brother, keeping it in the family. He's more of a pontoon kind of guy so he wants to sell it back to me next year, ( I hope he doesn't change his mind once he drives it! haha) Great deal he buys it and I get to use it now & then.:driving:

Got this from OSO...the dude definitely got the Fred jerk. I remember some delivery issues too. He hasn't posted since 2008, hopefully he fixed the boat and is still having fun with it.

Been working on it every weekend fixing everything that was supposed to be done before delivery. Gauges wired wrong......temp gauges wired wrong, Port gauge to Starboard motor and vise versa....that threw me off on trying to figure out the water temp problem.........so, finally figured out this weekend that way it is plumbed is causing the temp jumping back and forth from 160-180-240 and back....cold water is dumping in on top of the thermostat through water line in the top of the housing causing the thermostat to open and close......doing some research on a fix.......temp fix is taking out thermostats so I could drive it a little last weekend....(it's a blast!).........got any ideas???

Once I get it all fixed......and get over all of the BS I went through........I'll love the boat......PowerPlays are incredible........can't figure out why there aren't any other around LOTO .

Just found this thread - man am I glad you didn't buy that one from Fred Indy!! Hopefully mine will be back together in a few months....although I am certainly not going to hold my breath. Really wish I had made a career of being a lawyer or an insurance company.

I'd check your local plastics fabricator. I got a quote from my local shop a few years ago for the same thing, it was no problem for them to replicate it. Sorry, can't remember what the price was, but I remember it was a few hundred bucks though.

Sorry Jonny you can't handle my boat LOL:rofl: I do remember you saying something but no #'s... I can paint them but mine's cracked and it's a little thick to plastic weld. I have thought about using it as a buck and pull a mold off it so I can make one out of glass, but can't see doing it just for mine. I am also thinking about talking to my boys at Sun and seeing if Wayne might be interested in making me one out of clear/frosted acrylic... Got alot of options...

Best I have seen is 66-67 ish.

Yes a Gaffrig, and I'm hoping for more speed out of it once I get to trying some more props. Running a 26 p now I think.

I was at the marina next door to you and my so called friends like to fuk with me right... so I saw your fairring and raised hatch behind a parked truck and being put on trailer behind another truck... I started calling because I thought my buddies stole my boat as a prank... then I saw your bow was shorter and the color was blue... I honestly thought they took my boat...LOL:sifone: So I hope you and your buddy with the Phantom wanna run this summer, maybe St. Clair?

I forget the guys name I have him in my rolodex at my office. Hideway in Pampano sent it to him to repaint, he was painting a new Cig the same colors at the time. It came out nice and still looks the same as when I picked it up. Same grafix with the Powerplay removed from the sides.
