Ok, I have one of these in my Fountain dash 2006 boat. Last year we had to disconnect the batteries to upgrade the radio. Now the depth finder dosen't work? I have tried every combination of the buttons on the gage and nothing, it has power and you can adjust the warning settings ect. but it will not read the depth???? Anybody have any ideas????

Same thing in my fountain piece of junk i use my depth on my gps unit. If you find whats wrong let me know. I believe the problem is in the hockey puck tranducer.

Look under the dash at the back of the gauge, the transducer wire plugs into the back of the gauge. Check it and see if it has come unpluged, or loose.

All your LAKE boating took it's toll on the equipment! Let me know when you want to run offshore! :D

The older 3 button gauge is a re branded Humminbird

The newer 2 button gauge is a re branded Hawkeye

They can be had for about 100 bucks with the transducer...

True. I replaced the one in my last boat with a Humminbird. I think my puck was good, but the gauge was bad, or vice versa; but the parts worked fine intermixed.

For what it's worth, I was going to buy one of the Hawkeyes with the water temp a few weeks ago for my center console. The guy who owns the local marine parts store told me he stopped carrying them due to quality problems. Said that they got a bunch that were bad right out of the package, and most of the rest went bad not long after installation.

I ended up buying a Lowrance.

What is wrong with the sender that you attach to the transom? It seems easier to service. Is it as accurate?

I was saying in a round about way that they aren't the highest quality pieces of equipment. it might have just crapped out, or when you put the battery back on the power surge nuked it. Who the heck knows.
