Anyone know off hand the width & deadrise angle of both the Fountain and Velocity

Which boats specifically? In general the Velocity pads a flatter and most models are different. The Fountains pads are closer to the actual deadrise and similar on most models.

seem to recall pad on the Garbrecht Excalibur (Executioner) was 12 degrees

VR1 23 degrees on the 2002 model

All I have on hand is a 38 fountain 22 degrees.

Thanks guys, got under a Fountain today. V Pad was 16 in with a 22 degree deadrise.

are you saying that the velocity vr1 and 33 fountain have the same bottom? :rolleyes:

Velocity was around before fountain. Velocity was actually the first offshore-vee over 100mph. The velocitys are over-grown allisons, whereas the earlier fountains are less so. The 2 hulls are not the same..... :)

We had a 26 velocity for a while. Steve Stepp is cool guy and I like his concept. But.... I'll take a late model 42 Lightning over any vee-bottom, any day of the week. :D Those things just run......

For sure. They both have pads, notches, and are V's but, aside from those words they have nothing in common.
