Serious Offshore Facebook Page

I became a fan of Serious Offshore's Facebook page, but suddenly the name has changed to Serioulsy Offshore, with the disclaimer "We are not affiliated with the web site Seriousoffshore.com in any way". Even though it has familiar SO founders as admins. What gives? :confused:

Probably to attract more potential SO members. If you had no idea, I wonder why the facebook name change then?

I have not been in contact with Nick, Craig or Ted in several days.

Apparently a Facebook page was set up on behalf of the website. Assumably that makes it ours as it has content from months back. Sometime today someone took it over and changed the name. Apparently based on some issue they may have.

I believe in addressing issues directly, not by these oblique, child-like insinuations.

Now the page is gone. But with the mud being thrown around there today, it is a good thing.

I have not heard from the three you are inquiring about. It's my understanding that they want to go in a different direction. I wish them well and thank them for their efforts. They are now and always will be Founding members of this site and welcome here any time.

We have a very full roster of moderators. We have discussed this and we no longer have any special titles. All of our mods are part of our original group of founders. From now on, we'll have "moderators". All equal- as they all were always equal anyway.

We also continue to have the same Board of Advisors as before. These are primarily Founders, but we have added a few other individuals who have distinguished themselves here to those ranks. This happened about a year ago.

This is a public website with free access. If you so desire to, you can use it at no cost to you to share information or discussion with others that enjoy the sport. If people choose to share their personal business on here they're more than welcome. But there's certainly no expectation they do so.

This site was started as a free place for offshore powerboating enthusiasts to hang out. Nothing has changed as it's free , informitive and even some interesting drama thrown it. It's the best deal in town so enjoy!
