Is ready to get into the mix in Dubai, as the 2010 X-Cat series begins.
The first race has been delayed due to the passing of one of the royal family members, the country is in mourning. Today the sea's were very rough and concerns of safety from the WPPA and organizer's gave a chance for teams to prepare for tuesday's event 27 are registered to race. With only about 45 minutes of test time on the boat, Throttleman Mike Seebold stated that testing between now and race time would be great, (any testing must have the Coast Guard's approval). Seebold further stated that they are not here to prove anything, besides getting a good feel for the boat and finishing the race. The boat was rigged by Grant Bruggerman of Grant's Rigging and Stihl Racing fame, he is also here to insure there are no gremlin's that will keep the team from competition. which will include him, as Grant as teamed with his United States advisary Gary Ballough in the ProMarine USA.Com also a 32Ft Doug Wright. With the postponement of Saturdays scheduled event Organizer's will race the first round Tuesday and the second round will follow friday, in Dubai as well.

Be interesting to see the new DW vs. old DW. I thouight I read the new has different bottom, and obviously a diff deck. Anybody know the new top speed? One of the previous DW's ran 124 I think. Sick speed for 560 HP and a 32 footer!

Those two DW's will contain some insanely talented and competitive crews. Possibly the best talent we have. It will be exciting when they get comfortable with the new equipment.

Is the Stihl Cat Lite boat a new boat or an old race boat?

Are there going to be any SCL boats besides Amsoil and Stihl? I miss that class I always thought it was an excellent class.

What hull is the #66 boat. It looks alot like the 30 AMT.

I really like the profile of the #5 Cat.

Ryan Beckley
04-03-2010, 12:19 PM
66 is a Doug Wright, it is the Ex King Fisher

The #5 is a Victory

Here in the States the SCL class has AMSOIL, STIHL, The Norweigians, PEPPERS, Team Fastboats, and Ray Contrears's #388 as well. There are a few other boats out there too like In The Red, Motley Crew, The Ross's, Popeyes and a few others......

just tested the 388 SCL of Ray Contreras today.... she is a sweetheart.... never dreamed i would see 38 feet of fiberglass go deep into the 130's with only 525 efi's...

Yes the mounting brackets would be legal here in the US. There are no rules against the engine brackets. Those were actually built by E-ticket boats from the west coast.

Thanks Ryan.
I thought the standard Jack plates were spec. The option of a bracket like that or custom one allows me to change my design for the better.

Congrats to Rashed and Salam... What a great debut for their new boat! It is nice to see Grant and Gary run well as well as the new Yachts boat. Hopefully Team Victory will get thru some of the issues this week and be ready for the next Race.
