340K? such a deal for the true beak freak, I seem to remember some incredibly enthusiastic cheerleaders back during the great Outerlimits Fountain war... Im suprised one of them have not bought it, and placed it in a giant glass display case... Laser etched with Reggies profile and signature complete with pure gold inlay......

Shampoo isn't going to fix that, looks like it sat full of water long enough that the stains would have washed away with the carpet pigment....

Yeah...that's the confusing thing to me. HUGE $$ for the boat...looks like it's been completely redone...and THAT is the carpet?

My dad has a saying. Some thing is only worth what some one will pay for it. Just a few years ago this boat may have been worth 500K...............maybe not, but the point is what would the "right" person pay for this or any other VERY unique boat.

NADA shows nothing for that model in 1981.

Like NADA is right about any numbers. It's pretty common for the guide to be missing either the first or last model year to be left out. At best their values are 25-35% off

That will be for sale for a looooooooooong time at that price. I'd bet money it won't sell for 1/3 of that.

I've owned a Fountain for like 6 years now...don't you think if the gold chains were gonna come, they'd have been here already? I'm stuck on hemp and pooka beads, bro.

And no way Michelle would go for that...it's not pretty like ours.

As a side note, I just got the official letter in the mail this week saying my Fountain stock was officially worthless! No surprise there. Guess I could always wipe my azz with the letter and get something out of it!:leaving:

It's not a type-O that's the real asking price.... Been @ Shrogren for awhile when they 1st listed it they were asking $500k... Shrogren commented on it on the other site

To list it for that price makes you wonder what planet they are on. Also at least clean up the carpet if your trying to sell it.

GTFOH! They are serious? holy bat sh!t.What did he say? I think they are bunch of tools anyway but thats besides the point. Good luck with that LOL.

$39,995 (As long as the trailer is included and the carpet is cleaned/new) FYI you can't even finance that boat b/c of the age

The very first Fountain & Garbrecht 10 Meter boats did not have beaks. They were as-is, directly out of the Excalibur 31 molds and were painted simularly to this boat. This boat might be the first Fountain-only boat. Maybe.

There ya go. A beakless Fountain, lol. The hull AND the deck were as they came out of the Excaliber molds. Chris Craft private labeled them too, in 1980, 1981 and 1982. They were called Chris Craft Excaliburs. They also were the same deck.

They are just marketing it wrong..., if they do someting like this....

Want to own a piece of history?

Want to be able to tell someone you are legitimatly #1?

Want to impress friends and neighbors through a combination of design innovation and raw horsepower......

From the man who invented step bottoms, fiberglass, gauges that tell you RPM's and swim platforms, comes one of the boats that started it all........the 1981 Executioner!

So take advantage of this once in a lifetime oppurtunity, and buy a 30 year old boat for more then you would have paid for it 30 years ago brand new!

Buy it today.....or be disgusted with yourself tomorrow!

:)

In all seriousness....at the right price, would be a fun toy. If you dont love fountains, maybe 35k? If someone loved Fountains and told me they spent 45k, wouldnt think it was a bad buy

It belongs at the Fountain factory in pristine condition and on display along with original photos of the plant, production area, workers etc

If there is a Fountain factory anymore.....

mustang
03-26-2010, 10:25 AM
If it was out back for years and owned by Fountain I wonder if this boat was listed as an asset in the bankruptcy filing. Perhaps the asking price is being used to justify a value they have for it on the books. If it sells or not....it still can justify a book value. Just a thought.
