A friend of mine has got one because he lives right over the state line in SC and all of the people he calls are in NC. so he looked at it as a way to get around long distance charges. It works but there is some distortion sometimes when i talk to him, it does not sound as good as a normal phone to me. Funny thing is i have cable phone through Time Warner and to me it sounds as good as it did when i had ATT.
