I watch a lot of movies , all from Netflix (I hate the theater)

Just watched "To Have And Have Not" with Bogie and Bacall (it did not follow the book at all) I give it a 3 out of 5 Beers. They smoke more cigarettes in this film than any other I've seen.

"Zombieland" 4 Beers. I laughed my ass off and Bill Murray stole the show.

"The Hangover " 4 Beers. started slow but took off.

"The Hurt locker" 5 Beers. powerful movie.

"Terminator Salvation" 3 and one half Beers. some cool scenes, was longer than I thought, so I was kind of hammered at the end....might have to watch it again.

(I didn't list any porn because I only watch two to three minutes.....hardly feature length):bump:

I think we should have a weekly movie review section for Bobcat and he can keep them seperate from each other. Then we can all make snide comments. Instead of stars though, it would have to be something like five claws up......

"To Have And Have Not" - Great Flick!

Couples Retreat 3 & 1/2 Beers.

Really?

I found it to be sort of cutesy and the typical cookie-cutter date movie.

The cast of the movie is a good example of what passes for acting anymore. Every one of the people in that movie are the same person in every movie they're in. Vince Vaughn is the identical charachter in everything he's been in over the last decade. That seems to be a trend these days. Find a formula and make the same movie with the same likeable/tolerable charachters over and over.

Even a guy like Pacino- he stopped trying 20 years ago.

Another "date movie", but definitely aiming a little lower.

I watch some of these movies and wonder if these actors even read the scripts.

No warm fuzzy feeling here. Gritty and raw.
Deep stuff but very well done.

Saw that a few years back, good movie , the guy that played Jake the Mus(cle) has been in quite a few movies. He was the gong ringer in Couples Retreat and the bad guy in that Harrison Ford Anne Heche (crappy) movie.

Old Dogs - 2 beers...Travolta and Williams were probably funnier off-screen than on. And not enough Kelly Preston. More of that formula thing Chris is talking about.

Up in the Air - 2 and a half - just a little bit weird but with a couple pretty girls. Plus a kick in the balls kinda surprise...if you're into that kind of thing.

Chris
03-30-2010, 11:06 AM
I begrudgingly saw "I'm Out Of Her League" on Sunday night. Glad I did.

I went in thinking it would be just another romantic comedy based on the same tired formula. Worse even, it appeared to be aimed at the younger crowd so I figured it would be full of thet rruly mindless humor most of those movies rely on. I was pleasantly surprised. There was a little of that but not so much that it was distracting. Only one scene I can think of where they took it beyond what would have been necessary- to the point that it stood out. But overall the story and charachters were very relateable.

Just started watching What Boys Like, Yep, like that.. The opening scene, this guy is visiting a florist and jeweler. He's going to propose. When he gets home, his girl appears to be in shower, but he sees a postal uniform, along with her clothes on the floor. Goes into the bathroom, and...... You'll have to see the rest, yourself. Very funny.
