In my post on this..it was titled Shamu 3, trainers zero... you have the great white sharks only real known predator, andyou want to get all toughy feely with it.. This undoubtedly wont be the last...

The problem was that when sea world acquired the whale, they were told that it was aggressive and they were not supposed to show the whale, only use him for breeding. and then they are surprised when the thing kills again. unfortunately, if you let it go, it will not be able to survive, and if it stays it will eat another person. unfortunate situation

My son brought this up last night. He was surprised it killed the trainer. I told him "are they called hey let me make you a martini and give you a back rub whale's? no. THEY ARE CALLED KILLER EFFIN WHALES"

Why the anger at the lady? She's no dyke, she has a daughter and the story is one of incredible tragedy. The chimp was shot by the cops and rightfully so.

Everyone who interacts with animals that can eat or kill you should be aware of the danger. Not the animals fault, it's the fault of those who think they are pets. I'm positive the trainer knew the dangers and decided to have that career path anyway. When I go on a shark feeding excursion, or diving with Orca's, I don't really think i'm safe from harm.......
Kinda like boat racing or running hard in big water. It's a personal choice.
