Robert Brown, who has shot regularly for Powerboat magazine for more than 10 years and is a good friend, is also one of the best-know big-wave surfing photographers in the world. To get the shot, he pilots his Twin Vee catamaran through stuff that's just ugly. He just returned from shooting the Mavericks Big Wave contest on Feb. 14. Here's the story, and a few of his photos, http://www.boats.com/boat-content/2010/02/exclusive-powerboat-photographer-captures-mavericks-big-wave-surf-contest/.

And you think it gets rough outside your breakwater.

Robs a great guy and an AWESOME photographer. Some of the stuff he gets into is just crazy.

I've boated in California and ridden those 30 ft ground swells. That'll make you respect mother nature! Nice pics!
