Anyone running O/Bs with transom mounted water pickups (like Bob's Machine)? I picked up a set and I'm hoping to see some photos of others to get some rigging ideas. If you're running them please post photos of your rigging.
Thanks,
Sean

Every application can be a little different. Are you trying to eliminate the lower unit pickup? If you want both you need a check valve. You can have the water pickups enter at the midsection or on top of the block for 2.4 and 2.5's

These are Yammies that don't have an LWP. Just on the sides of the cases. I want to get the motors up a bit higher so I'll just seal off the original pickups and use the hull mounts exclusively.
I've got some ideas how I want to run the hoses, but wanted to see other stuff since I have a habit of overcomplcating things. I hadn't thought to run it into the block, for example, I was thinking I'd run it into the gear case.

But I so relish reaping the fruits of my own incompetence... :sifone:
Thanks Pat. I'll give him a shout.

Super sharp with any outboard. Has his own dyno. Could have him hop up your stuff too.

Might want to post the question on Scream and Fly.

I raced alot of Yammies and used pickups glassed in the hull running surface. I plumbed them pretty much the same as the Merc Hi Perf motors. Drilled and tapped for a 3/4 pipe nipple into the exhaust plates (between the mid and powerhead). Used a check valve at the inside of the pickup and hose to the pipe nipple at the motor.
