OH Boy,

Dont make me dig up the old pics. When I lived up in CT, and was restoring the Chevelle, I used to go home after work every night, walk the dog, grab something to eat, then head to the shop to work on the car. Being as I was welding, doing bodywork etc. I didnt drink much while working, just a nice coffee every night. Well, whenever I would walk into the Dunkin Donuts, the 16 year old girl that worked the counter used to say "Hey Whats up Joe Dirt".

I'll have to dig up the picture.

Her parents owned the place, so she could get away with it. And YES, I did still have what some people called a mullett for the early part of the 2000's, I just called it long hair:rolleyes: At the time I was married to a girl with the big 80's hair, so I got away with it:eek:. Once my ex and I split, it took me about a week to clean up, she still sports the big hair, and too dumb to realize why people are laughing at her:eek:

Longhairedhippiekid. This is where I got my nickname... My mullet days ended in high school...don't have any pics on the computer of that beauty...

My mom is a beautician, so I NEVER got to have long hair as a kid. As soon as I went to college...I let grow long.

Here's the end of the long hair, though...had my mom cut it to a mullet for a couple pics just for fun before it went all short...

Dont have any pics, but here is a list.

1981 K-5 Blazer:ack2:

1978 Ford Bronco lifted sitting on 36's with a Pro stock hoodscoop to cover the dent in the middle of the hood:sifone:

1982 mustang GT(all whited out with tinted windows, Flowmasters, killer stereo, and a Saleen body kit)

1977 F-150 with a homemade Flatbed Lifted sitting on 38's:willy_nilly:

1989 Camaro RS Baby Blue metallic with a 2.8 V-6:confused:

Then I grew up

1971 Chevelle(malibu, SS clone) with 383 stroker, 12 bolt/4:10 posi, TH400:driving:

Wish I still had the Chevelle, never finished the body, bought my first boat, lost interest in the car, and sold it before I moved to FL. Thought about building another one, but the prices are just outta control now for a clean body. So instead I bought the wife a new Mustang GT, she has always had Hondas and such, you wouldnt believe the looks she gets when she pulls up to a light, and some Kid wants to race her, she rolls down the tinted window, and they see a little tiny Italian Girl driving:sifone:

Well, for one thing the war had been over for a couple years so there was nothing anywhere near as galvanizing to protest...

The 'hippie thing' may have been over from where you sat, but I can assure you that plenty of us never lost the faith.

The disco scene was ok if you could dance - no depth to the music, but the chicks were verry easy. (I was living in Atlanta - unfair advantage :) )
A lot of the GI's came back and brought more diversity to the american pot culture.
