The funny thing about that pic is that I've actually seen our Maintenance Mgr/Safety guy pull similar chit to that.
I forwarded it to one of my Maint. guys, and the first thing he said was our maint mgr is the guy leaning against the boxes waiting to run into the bosses office to tell him that "he" got the job done

Is that an elevator shaft??

Reminds me of my first job putting in Fireplaces.
Only, we didn't have lights, the chase was only about 20"x40", installing a 16"round pipe, and no scaffold - we had to "spider" climb the walls.
Certainly not as high though.

Yep.

That's a little one. Lights are 10ft apart, so I'm only 50-60ft up in that one. I'm on a 120 ft tall job now, headed to a 300 ft air traffic control tower next, and next year at this time, should be halfway up a 50+ story building.

Not for me, scared of heights. Can get up about 15 feet, after that gets really shakey

we do that stuff also, when you are setting up scaffolding 5-6 stories high you are always standing on one plank, and by the way those are scaffold planks not a 2x 12 , been 12 years since I have done an elevator shaft, or laid block for that matter, now for real fun you put two laborers(illegals) in a homemade bucket on the end of a pettibone forty feet in the air and have them patch stucco in 25 mph winds. ah the good old days:sifone:
