Like anything else Danny Built they were well done, ran good and were very popular with the customers. There were two open fisherman models on the 33 foot line the first was based on the old Cobra race deck.

Funny, I was thinking abot starting a thread about why there are not more center console hulls with I/O's. Less maintenance and less weight since the cabin and things in it that seldom get used are gone.

Well the "Other Money" finally ran out, and everybody knows you ain't gonna make money building performance boats, some may have a good year or two or three but eventually the performance boat building money gods will strike them down. only the really good jugglers (appear) to survive any longer and they are just juggling the money, usually other peoples.

The IO's ran very well and the way the Bolster/Seat was done it made for a good ride ,the console came from a Two Piece Mold and had draft away from the walkway see if there is the fish bait box included it is a nice piece of work and Cool.

Here are two 33 that I took pictures of last week when I was in the Caribbean, the first one was moored right off the Westin which is where I stayed and the other is actually one of the rental boats that run you around to the Island bars.... It's funny how you are somewhere and you are thinking as you take the picture where and for whom you will be posting it for....

I will touch on this, I would leave sometimes late and see Dannys truck in front of the office still and he was inside a boat redoing something that a rigger did he was not happy with, I would go in and talk to him, his Reason was no boat went out that he would not own personally.

and he could not go home knowing a small piece of door trim was not 100% perfect.True story more than once!

I think the difference between the Latitude and the Powerplay is night and day. The ones I've seen at the boat shows don't have near the fit and finish and rigging that the PPlays had. The console is a box looking kind of thing, not the nice one that powerplay had, and so on. Sad graphics too(if any) to bring to multiple shows. Just because you have the molds, means nothing to me. No thanks.

OneBadInjun,
There is no debating that Powerplay was nothing but top notch from layup, rigging, and final assembly. Latitude Powerboats is doing everything possible to live up to the expectation of the performance boating community with regards to carring on the legacy of this awesome hull. The console now houses the head and fresh water shower which can be modified as per a customers request. In addition, the original Powerplay console can be manufactured and installed if desired. With regards to graphics Latitude does not attempt to hide behind the make up so to speak. We believe that every line on our boats are straight as an arrow. Graphics are a personal touch that can be added or incorporated during a custom build. The biggest selling point of the Latitude is the demo ride. The ride, handling, and tight solid finish produce a ride that will impress the most critical performance boaters. If ever in the Baltimore or Miami areas I would like you to be our guest to see for yourself. We would appreciate the opportunity. Thank you for your comments. Latitude Powerboats appreciates any and all feedback from the Performance Boating community. We use this feedback to strive to make our product better.

Fred Brady

Sorry didn't catch onto the question until you posted the photo of the 28' Latitude. The 28' Latitude does not have any affiliation to the former 28' Powerplay. I believe the 25' and 28' Powerplay molds were purchased by someone else during the sale.

No, there was an removable insert made for building his 28; The plug was finished to Danny's standard and inspected by him, this was placed in the mold with the finished side facing the transom,Then it and the remaining bottom along with the transom and cutting flange of the mold were Gelcoated with tooling gelcoat and laminated like to a mold thickness.

OneBadInjun,
Sorry for the delay on response. Team Latitude has been hard at work even in a tough economy we are striding to improve our product while paying close attention to the feedback of our client base. We are in the process of manufacturing a brand new console from scratch for our latest build of the new and improved Latitude 35SS. We have aligned ourselves with some incredible craftsmen. Not only will this boat incorporate the newly designed console the boat will utilize a stout arch designed and manufactured Dave Dave Pigoni and crew from Custom Pipe Design. Harold of Grafic Worx has designed and painted some incredible graphics on the new Latitude 35SS which highlights and extends the arrow straight lines of the Latitude. Harold stated "the Latitude is one of the nicest boats he has ever laid graphics on". I have attached a link which documents the entire build to date.
