View Full Version : Help! They'er locking me up and I need bail $!

Salesmanship
12-03-2009, 10:25 AM
Apparently the fine folks have at the MDA think I have enough friends to bail me out.
I'm proud to tell you that I'm being locked up...that's right, I'm going behind bars to help Jerry's Kids© and MDA. To be released on good behavior I have to raise bail and I need your help!

All you have to do is click here to make a secure, online donation before 12/09/09. Your donation will help families living in our community and help guarantee me an early release. I can't wait to add you to my list of contributors. Your donations will go directly to a person in need, a person living in your community.

MDA serves people in our community with neuromuscular disease by providing clinics, support groups, assistance with the purchase and repairs of wheelchairs, leg braces and communication devices, along with sending kids to summer camp. MDA also funds research grants to find treatments and cures for some 43 neuromuscular diseases that affect people of all ages

We all know these are difficult times and it is tough to make ends meet but remember "tough times never last, tough people do."

Here’s what your dollars will buy:

$30 Flu Shot

$85 One minute of research

$100 One support group session

$150 One physical, occupation or respiratory therapy consultation

$200 One clinic visit

$500 Repair of a wheelchair or leg braces

$800 Sends one child to MDA Summer Camp

$2,000 Purchases a wheelchair, leg braces or communication device

Any gift no matter how small will be appreciated. Come on SOS please help me get released from jail.I sincerely hope that you’ll take the opportunity to support this wonderful cause; our help is their hope for the future!

Together we'll make a difference,
Terry Sobo

P.S. I'm counting on you, click here to donate.

We're in. Donation sent.

And what an amazingly worthwhile cause. And it's so easy to make a difference in the lives of the children afflicted with this horrible ailment.

Terry is a good friend of the site and of the offshore powerboating community. And with his duties at NorTech, he's a guy that just doesn't have a moment's spare time. But he finds it.

DONE

Your generous donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association on my behalf is very much appreciated. It is because of help from friends like you that MDA can continue to provide services to families in our community who have a neuromuscular disease.

I am glad that I could help Jerry's Kids© and it is because of my friends, family and business associates that I've been successful.

Thanks again!

They like to make fun of the Hi-perf boaters and usually mention "gold chains".
I used that to kind of challenge them. Since the thread opened again yesterday there has not been one single response. I guess that proved the point.
The thread that is still locked was to point out the stupidity of deleting the other thread.

Hi Terry!

I checked online this morning and you are at $7560. I think the day of the lock up you were at $7,000 and you said you had another $500 coming which would account for the $7560. If there is anything else on there, perhaps it might still be processing. It’s usually pretty good about updating…even though it’s not instantaneous!

It will continue to update if you get anything else, the site stays open for 30 days from the day of the event. So please keep directing people there if you think there are more people to collect from!

I would love to see you hit your goal of $10,000..you are a true MDA Lock Up All-Star!

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help and I will keep an eye on your page as well. If you receive any checks or anything, you can mail them into the office and I will let you know we received them. Our office address is:

Looks like we've stalled out at $7610. I still have some time so if anyone can still help out that would be great!!!!

Lets get this jump started again to attain $10k for Terry's effort... I think Terry is up around $7,600 or so....

OK here's the deal... Otis/Bob Scanlon called me on the 17th of November needing money to come back from Key West after losing his wallet, having done favors to each other in the past I did not have any issues sending Bob $1,000 right at that moment, he said he would be back by the weekend and send me a check or drive me back the money.

I have had many promises of getting my money since and the latest being a Saturday promise of equitable accounts... then no calls, or answers or any more contacts from Bob.

So whatever Bob sends me of what he owes me I will donate to the cause for Terry. Anyone who knows Bob and can let him know be my guess, maybe you will have a better chance to reach him then I have.

Well looks like Terry will be $1,000 closer to his goal.

Thanks for resolving this Bob.

Bob also mentioned that he will put in some of his own on something he got the raw end of a deal on. Bob thank you very much for this also.
