This is my third Triton engine, and I have never had to look for the distributor. I can't find it, or see a plug wire. :(

COP=coil on plug. Individual coil packs (8) 1 on each spark plug.

If this engine is newer than late 04 do not try to take the plugs out before you talk to me they will break. Its a huge problem.

If hasn't spit the plug out already - be very very careful. Ford came out with a repair kit as the threads come out with the plug a lot of times....

Thats the older design Ford went from the plugs coming out by themselves to not coming out at all.

Had one friend bet another that he couldn't locate the plugs in his 5.4 Expedition...The owner won a case of beer on that one a few years back! 115k on my my 98 motor. Still running strong, so I ain't about to yank the plugs...I have pulled 1/2 the coils for "valve cover" removal" and that wasn't as bad as I had feared.

It's a 99, with 265,000 on the odometer. I had a 99 F 150 5.4 that I bought new, worked the pizz out of it, and all I did was change the oil. I put 122,000 on it, and sold it to the first guy that looked at it. Other than the oil, it still had original belts, hoses, etc.
