...With A Full Line Up!

Diversity is one of Cigarette Racing Team's (http://www.cigaretteracing.com) strong suits--as well as its long-time reputation for building the most recognized, top-quality performance boats in the industry. Celebrating 40 years of its star-studded history, Cigarette comes to the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, displaying nearly every boat in its model line, which has grown significantly over the years. From the iconic 38 Top Gun to the 50' Marauder, Cigarette demonstrates responsiveness to its customers' desires and lifestyles-whether it is an entry-level top-notch powerboat or the biggest Cigarette in the marina. Each Cigarette shows the same commitment to quality construction, reliable operation and service--all with a painstaking eye for detail, from the inside to the outside, from rigging and instrumentation, to upholstery and paint.

All the boats below can be seen on floating dock H-I behind Bahia Mar Thursday, October 29-Monday, Nov. 2, 2009.

38' Top Gun

"The more things change the more they remain the same." Regardless of the evolution of the Cigarette line, the 38 Top Gun remains a standard favorite. Easy to drive, dock and maintain, the intermediate size, side-by-side engines and classic deep V styling make the Top Gun perfect for a multitude of boating styles. Low maintenance Mercury Racing (http://www.mercuryracing.com) 525's are a common power choice for people who want to spend maximum time on the water. The higher horse power engines are also available as the need for speed rises with the tide and experience in a Cigarette, but regardless of speed, the Top Gun's handling is superb.

"This boat is ideal for Poker Runners who take their boat from place to place and know it will operate at top performance in the high 80's all day long!" says David Wood, Pier 57 (http://www.pier57.com) Cigarette dealer who sells all sorts of boats to all sorts of people, "This is one boat I always know I can sell-it's the most dependable package you can buy!" he adds and brings a sharply painted black, white and silver 38 with a standard hydraulic hatch door for easy access to the deck and electric bolsters. The Top Gun also has added features like an added swim platform and billet engine hatch lifter as well as a berth cushion in the cabin.

38 Top Gun Custom

When the AMF Racing Team (http://www.amfoffshoreracing.com) wanted a new reliable, durable and impressive VIP vessel and pace boat to add to its team's arsenal of race boats, owner John Haggin came to Cigarette. "I saw my first Cigarette at 6-years old when my father took me to the Miami-Bahamas race. Ever since then, I have dreamed of owning a Cigarette and now having one on the GEICO Caveman team is a dream come true!" says Haggin, "We wanted the best-of-the-best and we got it!" The standard 38 Top Gun received customized paint and upholstery to brand it with the GEICO Caveman graphics for use on its extensive "Miss GEICO" (http://www.missgeicoracing.com)US Offshore Powerboat Racing schedule. The boats bright chartreuse paint makes it easy to spot on the water as the fans cheer for the Miss GEICO teams. It will be on display in the Cigarette booth in Ft. Lauderdale.

39 Top Gun Unlimited

Taking a good thing and making it even better was the Cigarette challenge in developing the 39 Top Gun Unlimited. As usual, it was customer request-this time for staggered engines-- that spurned the change. Rather than try to stretch the 38' engine compartment, Cigarette built a new hull and deck and added enough room for access to the staggered engines, without taking any room from the cockpit. Plus, added length provided an adjusted center of gravity and a new X-dimension for improved handling. The hydraulic cabin door with built-in stairs for easy deck access remains standard, as does a transom shower and shore electric. Upgraded upholstery and detailed instrumentation (SmartCraft, Heads Up drive and tab indicators and a backlit dash) were added features and this show model which also includes a swim platform, Stelling headers and billet stereo covers, engine hatch arms, fender holders and Cigarette dash emblems. Legend Marine Group's (http://www.legendmarinegroup.com) multi-toned red 39 with silver accents is a crowd pleaser and sports a fiery red cockpit and console, also with silver accents. With Mercury Racing 700's 105 mph is easily achievable so Greg Connell and Casey Freeman can be ahead of the pack without sacrificing safety or stability. "I love this boat!" says Connell, "It will make someone a very happy Cigarette owner!"

42 X

As Cigarette models grew larger, the steps changed, making modifications in the ride. Cigarette made some hydrodynamic bottom tweaks to the popularly sized 42 to enhance its cruising ride. Rises in speed were easy to predict and the show's Lipship Edition with Mercury Racing 700's will make a strong statement on the water, reflecting pale blue and silver from the sleek hull and deck. Other engine configurations are available but the Mercury Racing 700 package with NXT drives has been overwhelmingly the engine of choice for new models. "I've always liked the 42!" says Phil Lipschutz of Lip Ship Performance (http://www.lipship.com), a long-time Miami Cigarette dealer and World Championship racer, "The longer length provides the option for more power and speed all with precision handling-just like a race boat." Add to the other standard Cigarette features, electric bolsters and color-coordinated instrumentation, billet fender holders, stereo and swim platform, and this is one hot Cigarette!

50 Marauder

The Europeans' quest for the biggest, richest and most fabulous Cigarette in the harbor prompted the construction of the Cigarette 50' powerboat. Triple Mercury Racing engines from 850 SCi to 1200's, in this long and lean Cigarette can draw some serious speeds, smoothly and flawlessly. The standard features of other Cigarette powerboat models are enhanced by the Marauder's added zeal for luxury. The extra finishes in the cockpit and full cabin, including a berth, full head, generator, air conditioning, entertainment center and other options can keep a new Marauder owner cruising in comfort and style.

The Marauder in the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show exemplifies its European flair, as the boat has just arrived in South Florida, on vacation after arriving from the Mediterranean. While the boat can travel at 120 mph easily with triple Mercury Racing 1075 SCi engines and Hering propellers (http://www.heringpropellers.com), it was painted in black and white with deep red highlights and a dramatic winged warrior mask, and looks ominously fast just standing still.

"Cigarette provides a particular lifestyle to performance boat enthusiasts," says Skip Braver, President/CEO, "Regardless of your boating style, Cigarette has a model to suit. Our customers grow and change and we greet new ones who want to experience the Cigarette brand. We provide that from 38'-50'-there's a Cigarette for every lifestyle!"
