Damn...... I hate seeing an old car getting crushed. Especially a 59 Chevy.... Love those fins!

But... interesting to see the damage suffered by it and how badly the drivers compartment took the impact.

That is an incredible video and makes me rethink the idea that a big all steel car is safer.

I wish they showed the Malibu at the exact same angles they showed the 59 from. It is a definite weighted viewpoint on the angles shown.

That old car twisted and all the glass blew out of the car. The new car looked like it only lost the windshield. The air bag looked like it was the best feature for the driver!

Maybe so, but I think the two shots of the crash from inside the cars tells me enough of the story. I guess bigger isn't always better.

Oddly enough, I was in a car accident with my Dad when I was a kid in a 59 just like that one. Smacked my face on the dash and got a black eye. :biggrinjester:

Well the New malibu took the hit by @ 50% of the front end and that width is not probably even enough to reach that X chassis frame in a 59... which seems to get hit a lot more on the drivers side.
