Thought you guys like to see a few pictures of our new 2009 Pantera 28 SR. We custom fabricated these Stainless Steel plates that were precision cut by Water Jet and polished them to an incredible shine. Then we mounted LED lights ( green ) that will give the boat a very unique look while night time boating.I am very excited on the new changes coming on our new Pantera 28 SR ( sport re-born ). Changes will include : new cockpit dashes, new cabin features, new twin stepped bottom, reduced fuel capacity allowing for a lower CG, raised the drive height, plus a few other changes.

Pictures do not do the recessed hull sides and LED lights justice since the factory lights were on while pictures were taken.

We should be testing next week some time. I will post some quality pictures and video upon completion.

Confident we will see awesome performance and a very unique look out of the 28 SR !

I was thinking the same thing. May have to keep them off under way but it sure would be cool at the docks :D

I've said it before and I'll say it again...you guys build a beautiful boat. I'm ready when you are to power one.:biggrinjester:
Lets give that boat what it really deserves. It certainly deserves more than a painted up 525.:driving:

Thanks guys.

We just dropped the overhead door and turned the lights off here at the factory and turned on the LED lights on the recessed hull sides. All I can say is the boat looks unreal. Had a couple of friends - customers here at the factory today and everyone said the same thing : It's a winner !!!:)

I will take a video while testing it next week at night so everyone can see how unique it truly is especially due to the recessed area on the hull sides.

In today's market you need to be innovative and different. This is something we have been wanting to do for a couple of years now so it is very rewarding to see it come together nicely.

A few new changes are also coming on the Pantera 36' model next.

These lights are not navigational lights. They are "cosmetics".
The nav lights are wired to a 3 position switch, one side of the switch will turn the nav lights, center position is "off" and the other side is for the "cosmetic lights".
That way when you turn the nav lights the cosmetics will not be on and viceversa.

Hopefully I have shed some light on the issue!
Later,

I think it looks great also.

Could you set it up with the port side being red and use it as navigational light also along with the bow light or would that not be allowed?

The LED lights come in Green, Blue, Cool White, Warm white, and Flame Red.

I liked the green due to our cat eyes logo and the green colored 525 EFI. We could go with any color combination on the LED's.The recessed hull sides with LED was never designed to replace the navigational lights.

Here are a few pictures I took yesterday.

Boat handled perfect with much faster speeds.Going to test out in the ocean tomorrow.

Recessed hull sides and LED look amazing once the sun starts going down.

Boat looks great, but I would consider putting a red LED on the port side. If someone ever kept that green light on at night it could be very confusing.

maybe guys should read the thread first. JO and Pepe thought of that already and it has been addressed in the design. End of story.

That thing is awesome and looks great. I cant wait to hear the performance numbers.

Jo,

It was a long time ago when I went to Epcot. I do remember seeing a futuristic car that appeared it had no tail lights, but in fact they had a transparent paint that allowed the red to shine through when lit. The car itself was silver. Just a thought, maybe it is something that you may be able to do in the bow area with something like a blended in porthole. You would not actually see the glass if the paint was over it. Then again a clear gelcoat in an area that does not need balsa. Paint over the clear gelcoat and have it illuminated from inside! ;)

I know it was covered in earlier posts, the lights are on a switch so that the side lights go off when the running lights go on.

People also have to keep in mind that these lights are facing to the rear towards the transom. You would not want to give a boat behind you the wrong impression no matter what color they may be.

When running at night only proper navigation lights should be used.

Pantera seems to have covered that within their wiring system...

Had it up to 78 MPH today at only 4950 RPM spinning a 27 pitch P5 hydromotive. To much transom lift with this P5 prop.Going to have made a P5X 26 pitch rounded ear fully labbed to get RPM up to 5200-5300 RPM.

Boat handled perfect with our new T.S. bottom and picked up a little over 10 % so far.

Had a proffeesional photographer take pics. today with a model I will post pictures on Friday.

Here are a few I took of the cockpit, motor, and race hatch with NACA duct ventelation. Boat is on the way to Ducky's Boats our dealer in PA. now.
