Single Engine, Full Canopy Boats

Who's making them? I know you see a lot of Bat Boats and Phantom (and Extreme maybe?) comes to mind as well. Any manufacturers make any one offs? I know Activator made one 27 ft with a full canopy...anyone know of any others like that?

Just curious.

Phantom is about the only one who is still producing them. Will has a new hull sitting there in the shop.

I think Lavey probably would build you one. I think they only build one race boat and then two pleasure 29s (which are open top canopy boats like a fountain PR). There's on at National Liquidators right now. I would bet, for the right price any of the custom builders would build you something... And I think there are several competitive used SVLs for sale right now.

There are a couple of single v's that I would love to see in a full canopy version. I guess it would probably add tremendously to the cost of the build to have a canopy (done the right way) to a normally open boat...maybe that's why you don't see too many company's doing it?

I don't think its that. It's just a small market...basically one race class.

I bet a canopied Lavey would cost the same as one of their open cockpit boats...a lot less interior costs.

Kevin said the boat was expensive, mainly due to the canopy, a good one will cost nearly as much as the hull does.

Tony built a very intresting canopy, maybe not as "pretty" as the MTI's and Skater but very nice and and strong.
